Unfortunately for me, the only option that works here is #1.
Even the PC's are protected, meaning you need to be an administrator to change anything, which includes changing the bloody date or time!
As for the above site, I even get this friendly warning:
[cite]Blue Coat Web Filter[/cite]Your request was categorized by Blue Coat Web Filter as 'Proxy Avoidance'.

I have one question if you may, VB. A couple of months back the old .com site was barred from both mine and Brett's work, you gave us the following list of addresses, all of which incidentially slipped past the Websense scanners.http://www.londonfgss.co.uk/
http://www.londonfgss.co.uk
http://londonfgss.co.uk
http://www.fglondon.com
http://fglondon.com
http://www.fglondon.co.uk
http://fglondon.co.ukAre these to be moved over shortly, or is there only to be the .com site from now on, thus meaning that we'll be barred from the site whilst at work?
Cheers!
SamThose domains all now work (or will do so shortly when the DNS flushes through).
The direct IP address does not work as I am now using virtual hosts and the IP address doesn't go directly to this website.[/quote]
Thanks VB, all is working fine. You're a legend!

Hippy, Jaysus fecking Christ! Soz to hear your woes. Am I right in thinking that as it's a reliability ride there are no marshalls and/or route markers?
Fuzzbrain, respect to you, sir. And you're right, the weather was great! As for the time, I would have been delirious with that. I started at 9:20am, and bailed at Nice Elms just after the feed stop with 17 miles to go at 12:40pm. I knew what two climbs lay ahead, and I knew that there was no way I could get up either of them with my back fecked and my legs completely gone. Even if I was half fit, that last section would have taken me at least an hour and a quarter as you don't really get any benefit from climbing those two hills, i.e. there is no real downhill after them.
Note to self. Must get fit. Must ride bike. Must get fit. Must ride bike.

tynan Do you mean the bearing cages - not the bearing races ?
To avoid this issue simply remove the bearing cages completely (obviously this only works on a loose ball bearing BB) - not only does this make your bike weigh less (weight weenies take note !! :D) but your BB will run that tiny bit smoother/freer.
The cages main role is aiding the construction of the BB, beyond this they have no functional role.
Durr, yes!

Ride, erm, report.
Started too fast, first hour my average speed was 19mph. Made it up Kidds Hill without getting off which probably lead to my downfall, along with the opening pace, being a fat knut, doing just 28 miles training, and riding on my own for the whole way except for about 5 miles. In fact, since I bust 2 ribs in November I've ridden the bike just twice and commuted to work about 20 times, 16 miles for a return leg.
Anyway, just after the feed station at Four Elms I decided to call it a day. Knowing what lay ahead (Ide Hill Road and Star Hill) I knew there was no way I could get up them. After the halfway point I had to stop every 3-4 miles to stretch my lower back out as the pain shooting down my hip was excruciating. Every time the road went even slightly uphill I was in a pathetic gear.
In the end I rode 49 miles which I suppose was good training!
I am NEVER EVER again going to enter an event with little or no preparation.
Fuzzbrain, I hope your day was better than mine! Hippy, same for you!

Is it an Italian thread? If so, firstly check the drive side cup to see if it's worked loose.
As for the smoothness issue, I know it sounds daft, but are the bearing races in the correct way round? The side showing the face edge should be facing outwards meaning the side with the prominent bearings are on the inside!
I got my road frame second hand 4 or so years back, the bottom bracket was in an awful state and I couldn't work out why until I realised the bearings were installed the wrong way round. It was the same story for the headset!!

RPM don't fancy being stuck out in kent, at 5pm on a sunday evening, hungry, in the dark, in the rain, surrounded by men with beards and no way to escape
Not all people from Kent have beards. Admitidly most women do, but not all men.
Really wanted to do this last year but couldn't as we arranged my son's christening for the Sunday. I'm so fecking glad I didn't ride it!! From memory the Sunday was a lovely sunny day :o)

Still awaiting my rider pack, if it doesn't turn up this morning I'm straight on the phone! Something's telling me that they weren't expecting such a large interest in this event.
I'll look out for you, fuzzbrain. I'll be easy to spot, I'll be the one in black and grey on a pearlescent pink Olmo going backwards on the hills.

velocity boy I'm pretty sure all this tech talk bores people.
