A dog trainer this morning recommended we divert Ziggy’s cardboard cravings with raw cabbage. He is currently lying with a satisfied air on his back on a bed of shredded cabbage leaves, like some kind of strange salad. Result.

My wife's hair also. The poor puppy was justifiably horrified by the experience and yelped his head off while trying to run away from the shit that was inexplicably chasing him.

The AS ad is sadly quite an accurate description of the situation a close friend of mine finds themselves in with their parents, who have been suffering from Alzheimer’s for nearly a decade and for some time now couldn’t be said to be really with us mentally any more. My friend and their siblings feel like they have done a lot of their mourning already and are just waiting for the inevitable at this point.

At the same time, when the disease first started to affect them and they were diagnosed, this ad would have been incredibly distressing for them.

Not sure getting another 2MP of resolution on the Fuji is going to make much of a difference TBH.

I’ve never done wedding photography so my advice isn’t worth much, but I think it would be worth considering taking advantage of the deeper plane of focus you get on APS-C at wide apertures and using the Fuji as a wide angle - that will also help offset the AF not being as good as on the Canon. You can pick up a second-hand 16mm for not too great an outlay - the f2.8 is completely fine and very small, the f1.4 is chunky but has beautiful rendering and gets you more light - although at 24mm equivalent it might be wider than you’re comfortable with.(there’s a decent deal here: https://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/used-fujifilm-xf-16mm-f14-r-wr-14159145)

Otherwise you could get the 23mm f2 fujicron for not much second hand and go with a 35 equiv/50 prime combo plus the option of zooms if needed.

But! I am not a wedding photographer, this is just thinking aloud through options. Hope it’s vaguely helpful.

A lot of my family lives on the hurricane path. The ones near Tampa couldn’t get away because of the traffic. I hope that because they all spent most of their lives dealing with hurricanes in Puerto Rico that they’ve all bought concrete houses like they had back home…

We have to basically put our little guy in a blacked out room to get him to settle (we have improvised something resembling Gaddafi’s travel tent out of rugs and one of those PetsAtHome pens) . He complains for a few minutes but generally settles down eventually.

How much is she sleeping? Through a bit of trial and error we discovered our little guy wouldn't take himself to bed when tired and instead would become increasingly erratic, constantly wanting to interact but then being way too hyped up to interact properly. We've been enforcing naps much more strictly so that he’s getting at least 18 hours sleep a day and he's more or less back to his normal self now. I mean, he's still a puppy but he's not a cokefiend puppy monster.
