Guys,
am already in the office...and it realy feels like the looongest day today. Possibly due to yesterdays 'social' event.
I feeeeel London is a very bike-unfriendly place. Ok, you cant do much about the weather but these bike paths are just a complete piss-take. When have they been put in place here ? To me it feels as if somebody has just copied the form from somewhere else but not understood the real function. It is a bit like the sidewalks in the US...LOL. All these Buses & Taxi pulling over just make it a dangerous and unenjoyable exercise. You guys avoid them ? -

Hi,let me also have my first post today. I just recently moved to London from Hamburg -which makes me German - for work. Having been a SSpeeder for years with a trusty vintage bike from the early 50s the step over to the fixed side wasnt too far off and I am now hooked on the fixed feeling on the road. Quickly the total 1h commute is becoming the best part of my workday opposed to the worst (Tube). I bought a secondhand KHS flite 100 repainted and customized it. The Reynolds frame & Sugino cranks are all standard but I fitted a flat bar, a shimano + Goldfinger brake because I liked the name and the girl in the shop was REALLY nice.
I guess I am just a no-nonsense commuter with not much to show off - no bike-mechanic-geek either (yet). Whats the standard incubation time for that guys ?
I read a bit through the Forum and got to know it as a nice place worth to sign up. Unfortunately I am not a designer like everybody else here. I work in IT which also makes some sense because they say computers are bicycles for the brain. : )
Believe me guys I am, even so I messed up this first thread somehow
But I have a Mac,and like taking pictures. Is that arty enough? So that was that... and ah yes and to answer the other thread about which shoe I'd be....I most def. be a Flip-Flop !

not bad weather, only bad clothes ey ?
But my job requires some business dress code
and my bike is to vain for mudguards
so riding to work during rain is double sh**t for me.
The upside would be that yoou have yet another reason for
an extensive polishing session
weather warnings for today:
