Sorry I wasn't able to make it last night, I was off being a feminist:

didn't even realise I had it in me ;-)
see you all next week, boom box in hand popping a wheelie...

I've built 4 wheels, the first with a stand, the others just using forks. All have worked fine, some radial some 3x
<--- that's one of them
all I did for the ones with the forks was use a bit of tape and a bit of card to get better accuracy and flip the wheel over a lot. No real need for a stand unless you are building lots of wheels IMHO.
Just get a good radio station and a spoke key, and if you are doing 3x then get an old wheel to copy from.

Ok, so after Trixie Dix the other night, I was standing outside the Beigel shop with everyone munching on a lovely chocolate fudge slice.
At which point I noticed that of the 9 bicycles outside, there were a total of 2 brakes (one of which was on my bike). This got me thinking is this percentage representative of the forum, or just of the bar spinny kids on the rooftop?
So I thought we could have a poll? Let's not turn this into a rights or wrongs of stopping, jumping red lights etc. Just a simple poll so that we can see.
Do you have a brake on your main bike?

who was it who brought the boom box last night?
Yep, that was me, nice to meet you.
See you all on Tuesday, someone else bring along some beer for Bummy the Security Guard this time. By the way he's invited us all to a BBQ he's holding (So long as we bring pretty girls). He's a bit of an odd fellow to be honest sometimes.
Looking forward to the Summer Special BBQ & Beats Trixie Dix Spectacular!

What bike is it, Bristly? Also that bike with the twin top tubes and flat mudgaurds was really nice.
I missed the gin too - too busy smokin cheroots outside.
It's a REALLY old Dawed Dominate:
http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2008/oct/3/Robin@Spacehijackers.Org_2.htm
I got it with gears, but the rear wheel was a flip flop hub, 4 spd on one side and track threads on the other. So it was a very simple convert.

Ha! that was me, I still think "I woz robbed" on the bike competition!
what a fine afternoon it was, such a shame the gin ran out before the bar staff arrived. I was set for an evening of dancing and drinking at the working mans club.
Top Marks on a wonderful ride Ted. When do we get to play again???
