I posted something in the classifieds section, but thought here might be better.
Basically I'm wondering where I can get a set of straight forks from. I recently learnt to barspin at trixie dix by popping a 650c wheel on my front, however it would be nice to see if it's possible to do this with my regular wheel by sticking some straight forks on my bike. The only problem is that they need to be 1" threaded rather than a-head ones.
however all of the straight forks I've seen still have an angle between the stem bit and the fork itself. I've seen a few of the charge bikes with what seem to be pretty straight ones.
can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to find some? I spoke with 14 Bike co the other day and they said they could make some for about £80 which is a great deal for some bespoke ones, but I't might be simpler to just buy some ready made ones.

So last night at Trixie Dix I learnt to bar spin, however my curvy forks mean the clearance is tight and that 9 times out of 10 the wheel hits my foot and I end up on the floor, ouch.
Does anyone have some 700c straight forks up for grabs? to fit a 1" headset and a quill stem?
Maybe then I'll even be able to do it with my normal wheel rather than putting a 650c on the bike, and even better, maybe my knees will stop getting so grazed.

Hey Greasy Slag,
if you send the email on to me robin @ spacehijackers.org I can get it on to the solicitors.
For the record, I was the one driving the tank.
Oh and I took my raft home with me, but as said above, it wasn't a hijacker event, so I can't speak for the rest of them as I was off home by then.
and hello ftony I think I know you!

Well it was another lovely night on the roof! I managed the longest wheelie I've ever done (which really isn't that long).
My only concern is that the roof is becoming a bit of a shoreditch hangout. By nightfall, there were nearly as many people up there without bikes as there were with. I guess they all float around our scene, and I know a few of them quite well, but we don't want our secret rooftop to be turned into the next hoxton square, nor do we want the security suddenly to have a problem with crowds of people on the roof.
I don't really know what the answer is, I just thought I'd put it out there. TrixieDix is a wonderful thing, lets keep an eye on it.

we have doctor Heather Clark
http://www.prideofbritain.com/contentpages/winners/2000/clark-Mulcahy.aspxDr Heather Clark and Dr Alastair Mulcahy performed open-heart surgery on a pub floor, with just a scalpel and a pair of scissors, to save the life of man who had been stabbed.
Heather, 35 had never carried out surgery before, but she had watched a similar operation just two days earlier as part of her training.Go NHS!

He said: "One reason is that there are a lot more people cycling, and another is that because it's more popular, there is more of a market for stolen bicycles. I am a keen cyclist so I do feel for people and know how infuriating it must be."
I think the key word there is MARKET
perhaps if the old bill to a trip down to THE STOLEN BICYCLE MARKET* a bit more often, this would help.
*you know which one, which is exactly the problem.

they don't exist! Anything designed like a dutch bike is going to be, well, as heavy as a dutch bike.
Gap in the bloody market I tell thee!
Oh well, I guess it's back to the drawing board
Perhaps some of the older 3 speeds won't be too bad with the gears ripped out, and panniers etc all taken off? Jesus even I get tired lugging my bikes up those stairs every day.

Hello,
So Miss Pioneer and I are trying to build up a new bike for her.
Ideally we're aiming for something lightweight and pretty, I live up 4 flights of stairs.
a bit like this
however all the ladies bikes I find on ebay seem to either have straight top tubes, and look butt ugly, or be very pretty but weigh 10 tonnes.
Can anyone point us in the direction of a ladies frame/bike, (curved top tube) which would be made of non-plumbers tubing? I guess we're aiming for something with the styling of a dutch bike but with the weight and ease of a fixed/single speed
like this I guess but something we can build up ourselves?
any ideas?
what searches should I be putting in ebay? anyone have something for sale?

bristlypioneer on commercial st!
didn't notice him at first but he yelled do a skid, so I obliged :)
Then we had a little chat, pondered life, shared a bottle of red wine whilst trackstanding, shortly after which, the lights changed and I pissed off home...it was a beautiful moment.Indeed,
I spotted Crazy James skidding sideways through a red light, pedestrians and on coming traffic all at once!
totally deserves his name!

exactly, I want the wheel to be identical either way around, at the moment I get massive toe overlap if the bars are flipped around.
So looking for something with no rake between the steerer and the blade.
