new-found?
Not buying it huh? How about rediscovered? Newly-outed? Reformed Former Lipstick Junkie? Okay, so I'm a shameless old drag queen. Do you have any idea how many times people asked me where I got those boots?
Incidentally, I genuinely do not recommend riding without brakes in 6" platform heels..

I was there with a few friends, we thought it was something to do with the Gay Pride march.
I think thats how we got away with playing pin-the-penis-on-the-gay-porn-star in the Broadwick St toilets, whilst Janky was tottering down the street in a dress with his cock hanging out yelling "We've done 20, Ive lost my pants and I'm drunk" into his phone.
Almost more exposed genitalia, porn and booze than I could handle. I think at one point even the police decided to leave us alone..

Jon's (or John don't know his preferred spelling) outfit was the best. If my girlfriend was not at the party I would have been all over that.
I feel kind of..violated. And flattered. But violated. Hmm. Im so torn :)
No your right I admit it. I'd be all over you first then Jon.
You cant even stay faithful to me on the forum? We're through. Actually, I think I could have scored with hillbilly until he recognised me and I had to chase him around the kitchen...

Every1 wants Eggpie
as I found out on saturday night..I'm feeling the love. Can I play for someone else as my new-found feminine alter ego and get a second saddle?

Dont worry. Ill be playing with you at ECMC baby :) I'm a team slut..

http://www.eroica.it/eroicae.htm
...Although, you're probably thinking modern flip-flip-fixies over a mountain stage of the TdF - or was that just me?
I love the idea. A couple of years ago I did the eroica on a 1950 double fixed. (Flipped it twice. Too much work. HTFU.) It may have been one of the hardest rides I ever did. Downhill, gravel and 23mm tubs are not the easiest combination.
Ive been touting the idea of making modern riders ride the same way ever since...

;191982'] It's good fun to watch the inner tire try to restrain the tube from blowing out of an inch and half skid-hole!
Makes for a bumpy ride once the inner tyre starts poking out in a few places though. Ive still got one of your old bontragers inside my back wheel. Its completely puncture proof..
-
You have uncovered the very thing I was thinking of though. Cheers!!!
Am I missing something? So theres a lockring on the adapter to keep the cog from unscrewing when you skid/slow/etc. What keeps the adapter from unscrewing? And if the answer is "nothing", why bother with a lockring at all?
I'm very confused..

;185831']Suntour? You sure you heard right? They've not made decent anything since the 80's maybe early 90's.
I thought the new black condor hubs came from the same place as the black dia compes? Er. that'd be Dia Compe then.. Ive got the old condor branded silver formula/EXs.
Youre right about suntour. They may still be going, but they dont make anything nice any more.

I've renamed the thread so that all stolen bikes can go in here.
Not my bike but still stolen. This was stolen from Tim (aka CitySprint's Big Bopper)
Last Thursday :
1972 Woodrup track Iron (serial number 1692) was stolen in north London. It is green with orange lug work and is approximately 22.5 -23 inch frame. It had a Resilion 32 hole front hub and Wolber Super Champion Alpine 27 inch rims. -
Just to check this is not the bike film festival polo tournament? That is is later in the year correct?
Correct. There are now (at least) two london polo tournaments this summer. I'm not entirely sure which one Zombie RMY are legitimate champions of, so I'm going to assume they'll be defending their title at both :)
The Film festival tournament is October 5th, near the rest of the festival at/around the Barbican.

Just sent Jos a msg asking what happend to the bike,
And an e-mail to LCEF about getting them the balanceWas that you I just replied to?
On behalf of the LCEF, can I just thank everyone who gave money to this. The London Courier Emergency Fund relies entirely on donations of this sort to support injured bicycle messengers. Including Jos, if he breaks his neck on that thing.
As I said via email, theres a paypal link on the front page at www.lcef.org.uk , and thats probably the easiest way to send us money.
Thanks again for the donation. You guys are amazing..

There's also talk about the finishing on them being a touch shoddy (seat posts and bottom bracket shells needing framing, issues with getting headsets on).
But they certainly are cheap as chips. Certainly beater material(?)
I'm pretty sure whoever faced the head tube/bb shell on my sparton had been smoking his chilean crack pipe all day. And while my seat tube shows signs of being reamed, it sure aint round (and if youre going to ream a seat tube, next time can you use a more common size than 26.0mm?) And then theres the brazing, which is at best sloppy. There are a couple of gaps where the filler hasnt come through properly, not big enough to be dangerous, but just untidy. A bit of filing wouldnt go amiss either.
Factor in the ugliest fork in the world (I swapped it straight off for an old 531 road fork), lugs fatter than the nastiest bbw porn youve ever seen, and the ridiculously long chainstays that make tight clearances just about impossible, and yeah, its definitely a beater. Ride it, knowing that when it dies youve got an excuse to buy something good.

If youre thinking about bagaboo ( www.bagaboo.hu ) you can always custom order direct from him. Minimal is a great guy, and all his stuff is priced in euros, which'll save you paying inflated london prices..
Theyve also got a dealer in milan:

If youre at polo this weekend you can check mine out...

Really, I did it every time I got stopped during my time as a courier, which was frequently, given the way I rode, it worked every one of the 40 or so times I had a run in with them....only ever got one ticket.
+1 for getting their number. I find asking to see their ID before I give them any information is a marvellous game. Didnt work last time though (for riding across cambridge circus on a 4-way red light). To be fair, it might have done had said copper not made up some inflated statistics on how many peds are killed by cyclists every year, at which point I got tired of my usual polite-apologetic-i-know-the-law act (that almost always gets me out of a ticket) and replied "bollocks. Whats the point in lying to me? Who does that actually help?"
So I got his number. And that of his partner, who REALLY didnt like being accused of lying to me. And a ticket.

OR, come to oxford and play where we play. Its huge!
and there'll be a party and an alleycat.
come on, you know you want to....That was so much fun:) The alleycat was amazing. We went for authentic "london messenger" by lying on the grass and being drunk. Excellent party too. Particularly the recumbent armchair rolling down a one way street the wrong way..
Sorry I missed the polo. Ill have to come back soon and check out your court. Thanks again for the beer and entertainment

;161772']Yea, just the 8.
Only stuff I'm after is:Cinelli 2A 120mm stem
Ive still got that slightly scratched 120mm 2A with the winged 'c' logo. And a 130mm round logo 2A..
Dont need no more rims though :)edit:
unless theres a pair of silver 32h open pros in your back yard. Yellow velocity must die... :)

what wheels you might be able to get a cmpag freehub body for the wheels
Or just a campag spaced cassette for a shimano freehub. American Classic make them, so do ambrosio, and a couple of others i cant remember right now. Someone makes spacers too (marchioso?) that you can use instead of the campag spacers that came with your cassette..
No Moving Target team? Bill? Is there something you want to tell us?
