I've got a 130 and it IS a bit odd compared to my old 100 ...
Steering feels leisurely (like using a tiller) rather than sharp / flickable / quick and all the other things we love..
(might not be a bad thing if you're on a super-sharp track frame with a steep angles)They make stems long for a reason though... people like you!
You could wait to splash £50ish on Ebay for the next 2nd hand LOOK ergostem (very adjustable) and mess about to your hearts content?

Can you squeeze in a lightly-sanded &/or well-greased 25mm post?
I know they are made for use with shims, butat least this is another option if you cant find a chep one..USE are about £60ish - obviously 2nd hand on Ebay is cheaper

Ignore what I said!

You CAN get hacksaw blade holders that only hold it from one side:
http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?id=36273&ts=68569But would this be long enough? I used a towel round the blade... buy some nice quality blades and build those arms!

What a mission!
Could you get the seattube 're-reamed' to remove the remaining seatpost?
Or if its going for a respray anyway then what about using a hot-air gun on the seattube with seatpost dipped in some liquid nitrogen (available in your friendly local university physics lab..).. Ice-water is a lame substitute.
Do you still have enough of the post sticking out to get a decent grip?

BIG framed road bike (unless those are 26" wheels!) in need of some tlc - conversion anyone?
[EDIT] - actually it looks a bit more like touring bike geometry.? That agrees with the other Nigel Dean bikes I've googled up]
Not sure of the frame materials etc, but IF it did cost £700 a few years ago as the seller has stated - cant be bad for £60 quid?

I was daydreaming about making a trailer earlier this summer - never got further than the research because of constant bicycle fiddling...
Check out the trailer links at the bottom here: http://www.carryfreedom.com/bamboo.html
I have a soldering iron, loadsof speaker wire + 4 smallish 2-way hifi speakers for surround effect if you need?

Seems only fair to donate - I've been on here so much in the past few weeks! reading old threads etc to make the days pass and numb the pain of work.
I'm bikeless and in Norwich at the moment - sucks. My frame was delivered to London yesterday and I'm gonna build it up tonight - YAY!
Server = my friend. Only drinks Red Stripe.

Use the hack wheels and convertor I did for a couple of months- if you really want to DIY it & can be arsed then disasemble a cassette to get the cog you want / buy a Shimano DX cog and use cassette spacers (from your unfriendly local bike shops' discarded cassettes?) to space it out and get the right chainline - lots of info on the web..
Offer! - I actually have a 26" rearwheel done as above with a DX cog + well-used Schwalbe City Jet tyre on it + used chen-shin cheapo slick spare + spare new tube - £10 if you can collect from Shepherds Bush / HSmith (weekends only).. No worries if you reject me and want to do it yourself - I UNDERSTAND. ;-)

I saw some skate-lid style (snowboard) helmet that had built-in headphones.
Here?: http://www.extremesports.ltd.uk/snowboard/product0-913.htm
I would be interested to know how well the wind-noise blocker thingies work though?

Clincher just means that the rims are for normal tyres that use seperate tubes.
i.e. NOT tubulars / tubs / sprints which are glued on..
Yeah - it is tempting front bling but looking again it might be silver not white?
I've commited to buy a frame so just gonna have to true up my old old wheel... :-( -
SOrry about ur bike - post a pic in Stolen bikes thread when you get a chance- theres enough people on here now that such a distinctive bike may well be spotted!
Theres a cycle jumble coming up at herne hill velodrome- At the end of August to coincide with the Keirin day!
Always good chance of a bargain there - sadly not for me yet. Also have a look at the ebay/craigslist finds thread on here or just post what size you're after someone may have a frame kicking around?
If you are OK with a flatbar levers (not on the drops) then the gold finger is a good bet -
Theres one here on Gumtree london for a fiver: http://www.gumtree.com/london/17/13003117.html
Also theres lots of gold anodised bits around that BMXers use - hubs etc.. good luck those cranks are pretty nice!
