there is a version for openoffice.org (free!) if you don't have MS Excel : http://home.earthlink.net/~mike.sherman/bike.html

download spocalc.xls (http://www.damonrinard.com/spocalc.htm - Full strength) it has lots of rim data.. it says that A319 D has ERD (eff. rim diameter) of 604.5 & A319 D 05 has an ERD of 602.5
At a glance: Mavic T217 / T233 match with 602.5 & Mavic T244 matches 604.5
1) Open spocalc.xls 2) click on the tab at the bottom saying rims 3) select from the menu bar Data - Filter - Autofilter 4) click on the arrow that appears at the top of the ERD column, scroll up and select 'sort ascending'. 5) browse away - there are 59 rims between 602 and 605mm
Hope that helps! -
@jv - the 2006 catlike whisper (the giant futuristic cheesegrater) is reduced to £65 at prendas.. not cheap, but almost half-price!

What size? 55cm italian track bike - bit nice for a cummuter perhaps? Its got a fixed-fixed ambrosio hub.
Details here: http://mike-dean.fotopic.net/c1331963.html
He's asking £475 - I'd hit it. You will need to drill/replace the fork but he's giving you the brakey bits..

When I had a similar problem with my hacked-up derallieur tensioner I grabbed it and bent it (and the dropout) slightly with my hand till it looked OK - no harm done (except slightly looser der. pivots) Are you worried about breaking something? It'll be fine - looks like you have a floating jockey wheel, right? so as long as the axle is horixontal it should line up where you want.. (If you try and srtaighten the dropout without the trensioner in then it might not screw back in easily if the threading gets skewed)
^good effort kboy! -

^no worries jw - lanky blokes stick together! It is a good find for a taller person - 700c wheels and 501 tubing = better than most cheap big bikesI've strayed across!
If he doesnt plan to keep the retro bits - ask him for those brake levers + calipers please - would look wicked on my dads retro bike (can swap 4 shimano 600 calipers) Thanks, p -
Get a seatpost rack or saddlebag to save your back perhaps? I'm sure it would be more pleasant. Know & love your saddle before you set-off - whether brooks/gel/carbon etc.
You should probably check out some touring threads for detailed information - (not that the people on here won't know!)

When I tried blagging from my local bike shop (Richmond Cycles Hammersmith - now closed) they insisted on charging me a couple of quid for old greasy spacers.. couple of thick plastic ones and a few different thin alloy ones.. I was on the dole at the time and really broke so I really felt the pinch! Try dismantling your old cassette (drill + metal bit may be required!) to salvage them yourself - used with the 2 on-one spacers it should be enough to sort you out...
(Using some of those 6 spacers along with the ones from dismantling my old 5-speed cassette was plenty - looks like Hippy's pucture above)
Just letting you know that you might not always get spacers free in London - depends on your LBShop! -
I like that idea! Blurb sounds a bit tongue-in-cheek which is fair enough..
Perhaps someone could combine this with boring frame protection patches so that the stickers protect the frame aswell?
For me it's always the seatstays, top-tube + fork blades that could get scratched when I lock-up - they're still not covered up... -

If the difference is 0.8mm - couldn't you use a 'USE' shim that is designed for the same diameter difference? You would not get as much wraparound, but it might be fine / better then homemade..? - sadly only found a plastic one for 25.0 - 25.8 here. Searching intarweb could turn up an alloy one somewhere..
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=820
CRC has 4 different brands: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/SearchResults.aspx?BrandID=0&CategoryID=0&Search=seatpost+shim
[EDIT] - Wiggle has more details - apparrently only plastic for the thick ones... http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=cycle&ProdID=5110000413&n=USE%20XCR%20Seat%20Post%20Shim
Thats a really drooly component list - nice one!
[EDIT2] - a quick google has located a 27.2 - 28.0 alloy shim that should fit the bill with more wraparound (no slippage!)- yay!
