Spinny - spinny spin-spin .. I was running 39x16 singlespeed for a short while - ridiculous!! Are you doing training runs or commuting?
Gearing for SS / Fixed is up to personal preference - SS go as high as you want but fixed be aware of the new and unusual stresses on your knees.. I'm still new to fixed (relatively) and am happier on my low gearing. -
IT depends whether you have (a) a modern cassette hub (as you say you do), where the cogs all fit on a splined body and held with a lockring OR (b) a threaded freewheel, where the freewheel mechanism and cogs are one unit that screws onto the hub. (original 1970s parts means you are (b))
If (a) - use a cog and spacers, (b) - screw-on freewheel (ACS / Shimano) will solve your problems.

I see some old-skool ski barend scratchguards there... light too! ooorrr... I could make a funky half-chain-guard? Custom colour schemes are available - get your orders in now for Xmas! ;-)
^^ I think these are a good idea - I eat bananas everyday and they can get mash-up by all the stuff I carry around.. especially if all smelly and ripe... mmmmm. I have seen zip-up padded covers for other fruit too - but they were marketed to parents and aimed at children. :-( -

^EEEK!!! Yeah I was surprised to see braided cable visible at the edge near the lock when that plastic bit came off, but it clipped back and I couldn't get it off again + looks solid so assumed it was OK - ABUS is still a good visual deterrent I reckon.. The main plastic covering barely scratched down to metal armour - it still saved my skin (yes literally :-))
I sometimes use a cheapo D-lock for front-wheel-to-frame duties but now you've told me this I shall upgrade to Krypto + cable if I ever do daily locking-up outside.
Cheers Mr B. -
When my chain snapped 6 weeks back pulling away at holborn towards TCR I took a pretty serious spill. The ABUS around my waist took a LOT of the edge off my fall on my right hip - the plastic cover where the cable enters the locking mechanism came unclipped (snapped back in place and solid as ever), and the armoured cable got scratched almost down to the metal! I did get some bruising from the lock but no broken skin - it would have been nasty as my waist is nowhere near as tough as my elbows / shoulders (both got road-rash) I'm gonna keep wearing mine.. but I can see how it made your fall worse. "Argh - my coccix!"

When I was 12 I went on a school activities week thing to Cowes on the isle of white. We spent a week learning how to sail a small yacht (45 feet). I remember being really enthralled with the open seas, pulleys, ropecraft, jibs, spinnakers and all things sailing related - and i admired the skipper (captain) the way little boys do - I wanted to be him when I grew up!
At the end of the week I got my RYA Competent Crew certificate - it's still on my CV He had misspelt my name as 'Proven Rad' - D'oh!!
Anyway I kinda liked it and it's finally been resurrected... :-) (see profile for my real name) -
You can get a 107mm from Shimano - cheap and reliable. If you are looking online you should make sure that the BB you get is square taper & JIS.

I really like the '_ _ _ _ _ _ _ BAG' idea, but you may need to re-brand when you expand you range? Like:
'_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ TOP-TUBE PROTECTOR' and '_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ T-SHIRT'? or would you just keep the 'BAG' part (= copyright issues!)
I personally would like: 'Scott not Scott's Bags' or 'Scotts Bags' or even just 'Scotts'' -

Come on Uxbridge Rd massiv' boo!!
yeah it's a funny sight seeing the tour-de-commute from outside of it - You can even catch the little details like the exhasperated glance from an old roadie's eyes as a knackered guy on a mtb goes bouncing/spinning past them with legs at 110 rpm and a clenched jaw.. HA! I get the bus on Monday morning and have loads of bikes to check-out as they go past. Like you say - all sizes, shapes, positions, all weathers too - it's great! -
Pair of Campy delta calipers... £99.00 BIN - seems to be about the market rate. i.e. bloody expensive! Could be good for a resto?
