Mouse I got a spot!!!!
Provenrad in Hammersmith. Hey dude, good to see you.
West London REPRESENT! (You can stick your Brick Lane up your arse).Yeah mate - me and my cool friends were chilling in Wetherspoons - it's the latest coolest hang-out!
And the cool 'University of Ale' promotion certainly taught me a lot... :-/
But seriously folks.. "Westies in-da-howse!" -
Hmmm... How about we go halves on it, keep it polished till spring, then sell it on Ebay.com and split the profit?
Or I'm going to the states in December, so we advertise it as the ultimate Xmas pressie for a Ferrari-loving yank?
But frankly, those carbon rims are pretty worrying - no kerb-hopping allowed. :-( -
That Colnago looks like a steal! and it's my size - so I was tempted and started googling...
BUT check out this Italian advert for the same bike from 10 days ago... those are the same photos. The seller has it listed for 950Euros - so it's still quite cheap, but doesn't that make it a scam?

£225 531 lugged grass/track frame setup as commuter. BUt it's out in the sticks.
BUY IT? Its cheap, and has some heritage / uniqueness so will not devalue like a new bike if you get bored. -
This topic has just become quite relevant for me - a colleague has left a 1999ish Kona Koa in our head office car park for ONE YEAR because someone kicked in the wheels. He has figured out my bike geekiness and I'm gonna go rescue it on Saturday. I figure that a freebie should reduce the average price I've spent on bikes this year ;-)
So: Strap wheels to bag, frame over the shoulder? it's 10 miles from Surbiton to Sheperds Bush - am I mad?
Should I just leave the wheels / get the train? -

Less padded saddle = better if you ride a lot, right? I use an old turbo, and it's surprisingly fine. I also have those same enduro undershorts and not really impressed, but do the job better than nothing.
Perhaps try tilting the nose down a smidgen to protect the old walnuts for now? Is that bad advice? -

Raleigh has made an R100 model from mid 90s till recently, as here:
Look for any stickers indicating the tubing used (e.g. chromoly double butted / Hi-Tensile) someone will have an opinion on whether it is worth it / not. If it has semi-horizontal dropouts then its an older frame. If it has vertical dropouts OR dropout spacing 130+mm then it is newer (and may not be fixable but I guess thats not the case?!)
If the frame fits you + is fixable, no reason not to use it, especially if the frame was cheep.
