thanks for all the suggestions.
in the end, it seems that shimano, dia compe and tektro all do 57mm versions. found a fair few london shops sell them (evans, butler, brixton etc). ended up getting some trektros from my dad's local shop pearsons. got a pair for £35, not bad.
now, anyone want to buy a pair of 105's :)

I'm kinda new here but wanted to ask the experts a quick question.
I have been running the original weineman callpiers on my mid 80's raleigh SS conversion. After spending most of my free time re-adjusting the bastards and following severalk near misses, I've decided to upgrade to some dual pivots. I got some 105s and prayed they'd have enough reach. But 49mm just isn't enough. Does anyone know of any other options??
I need another good few mm and don't know where I'm gonna get some!! Cheers all.

Been lurking for a while, figured I should just sign up!
Grew up in London, but now down saarf. Riding a converted Raleigh (black with gold bits, 80's bling), SS at the moment. I've riden fixed at the local track and love it, but not sure if i'm ready for fixed on the roads yet. Soon though, I crave that extra simplicity!
I like the attitude here, really sound. will try and hook up with one of your rides next time i'n in town.
hi-tec squash all the way! honest!
narrow, retro and super cheap.
