GSIAD would usually kick off at about 11am to finish early evening.

From memory it would be Stonemasons in Hammersmith, Coach and Horses in Brixton, Flask in Hampstead, that pub in Victoria Park whose name I can't remmwber for the death TT and then central would be either The Lamb in Bloomsbury or there is definitely an argument for The John Snow.

It might want to include South Easts as well, which would be The Roebuck in Borough.

Yeah, bridges should be West to East to arrive at Tower Bridge as the party is in full swing.

Oh, by the way, as one of the increasing number of booze free people on here, I am less likely to be GSIADing and more likely to be bridge riding.

Nota bene, in the spirit of the forum, the amount of organisation should be minimal - more a kind of "we make the event thread and they will come" organic kind of thing...

...unless you want to throw more effort into it.

I suspect that an actual party in an actual venue will be slightly more onerous.

We realise that a) Ruislip is the one true home of God and b) you are a bit of a Johnny come lately to the forum so never experienced the wonder of the 'trum days in Hammersmith and environs...

My vision of what this could look like is three seperate events on the day that overlap and co-mingle:

A during the day GSIAD.
An evening party in an actual venue.
A bridges night ride.

That should cater for all tastes and provide sufficient nostalgic madness.

Mega props to anyone who manages both rides and attends the party.

Let me know thoughts on that as a format. Also let me know if you want to take putative responsibilty for helping organise any of the above.

I know, I felt bad about not using the events but there are three mitigations I would plead:

One: I am on the app and it doesn't support events.
Two: I thought that this thread might spawn other, actual, events.
Three: We had to do this old skool style, for reasons that are obvious to the forum OGs

I have been pondering a legal route.

It seems to me that a test case would be needed. Something that a non-for profit could take in front of a judge to get a decision that protects this kind of site.

I am tempted to chat to contacts I have in the judiciary and the house of lords, to see whether such an approach is viable.

My friend in the Lords might be very interested in helping, this is quite up his street.

But, biggest issue is that this kind of thing would take years. Not months.
