with the weather we woke up to today decided to clean up and re proof my redwing moc toe 875's . nice good coating of mink oil into all the cracks round the all the stitching etc, should be good for a couple of months of winter pubbing.
redwings now 12 / 13 years old having undergone one resole a year back
and broke out the walking boots for the first time this autumn ..... Meindl Borneo Men 2 MFS Walking Boot for a walk into town in the sleet earlier. comfy snug warm and of course totally waterproof .... well you would hope so as i didn't even touch a bit of grass or mud. these will be for all non pub expeditions and winter slogging.
bring on the winter
might give the meindls a re proofing in the coming days just because

got this old overbury's pioneer from the police / bumblebee auctions website back in 2010. was in a bit of a mess, decided against doing it up for myself as it was a bit small for me, but the bikes have a decent following and was able to sell it on ( frame and fork ) via retrobikes. still have some of the bits from it to put to use at some point. here it is mid strip down hence it being both a drive side and non drive side photo ! pretty sure i'm still using that saddle on my current mountainbike.
one of my favourite forum bikes is an andy powell geared racer with wishbone seat stays. used to lust over that bike.

good to see chelsea finding their level in europe, 8-0 defeat of the mighty Noah, the armenian champions last night, after that result i bet shamrock rovers are quaking in their footie boots about their upcoming encounter with the blues. and one can only think about the relief Mladá Boleslav have at not facing chelsea in the league stage, having already lost to noah 2-0 on matchday 1
chelsea nailed on faves to win that cup surely.

loving the bbc headlines over the last week or so .... " kamala harris has been out campaigning on women rights and methods of boosting the economy " then .... " trump has been campaigning for free unicorns for all and apartments on the moon for every us citizen " they say it with a straight face and without poking fun at the orange loon.
how long do people think it'll be before the final results are pronounced and the legal challenges are over ? i remember the hanging chads event in florida and the delays that caused.

went out for a ride with my sony rx-100 over the summer . took some photos and then left it in the leg pocket of my cargo pants. on the way home it began raining biblically hard. by the time got home having completely forgotten it was in the pocket it had become waterlogged. did the usual putting it in a bag of rice to try and dry it out but it hasn't switched on since, i'm still trying it once a week to see if there is any life. is there any way sony could have a look at it or a local camera repair shop ? would it have short circuited some boards inside or the battery surged and caused some overload on the electrical circuits ? is it worth me opening it up and having a look inside for something obvious.
on a rating of 1-10 how borked is it ?
what would be a good replacement in the current market if it can't be repaired. looking at the price of the current sony point and shoot i'm not sure i'm willing to buy the newer version.

they need to be a bit more like radio 3 where the presenter just gives simple background on the track and then plays the ruddy music. i think her musical taste is great just spoilt by the waffle.
are they aiming for the 21 year old just coming down from a night on e's and whizz tripped out hippy pseudo intellectuals market
oh god i'm sounding like one of them talking heads now ! send help.

thought i'd give cerys matthews a blast sunday morning, started with a couple of great tracks then some talking head with word soup diarrhoea came on and spouted some shit for 45 seconds and just had to turn it off. unbearable. unlistenable and down right unintelligible.
stuff like " floating in a mindstorm of ambient dialecticism " .... not their exact words but you get my drift.
i had no idea what they were bumbling on about and i'm pretty damn sure neither did they.

chicken in cider with prunes went down well. mum had 3rds and the nieces and nephew all had 2nds so works across all generations. i had two good sized portions.
one problem, the chicken pieces fell apart, i didn't stir too much to try and avoid it, but i think someone had a good vigorous stir and all the meat fell off the bones leaving a bit of a mess in the pan. you want to cook the chicken nice and long so flavours can infuse but you want the chicken pieces in their original state and shape. -

essouaira might be a better seaside town to head for rather than agadir
