two words-
FREE BEER
wasn't in the mood to take full advantage of it but a pretty lady handing you a beer and asking for nothing in return was pretty cool.
after a pretty boring mass, the bmx show and trackstanding darts really rescued the night. definitely beats standing on a street corner outside the snow.

i thought that one way to make a mallet would be to lop the end off a golf club and then attach a bolt to the end of the shaft which would poke through the plastic tubing with a nut on the other side to hold it in place. will a chemical welding product like jb weld hold the nut in place given the rough treatment that mallets take?
anyone used these products and have any experience that could help?

i've enjoyed 'racing' (a bit of a strong word given my fitness levels) a few alleycats now, and have had no problem handing over the ££££s to enter knowing that i have no chance of coming close to winning.
the problem i have with this situation is not with someone wanting to organise a race for just messengers but that it may lead to many others doing the same for no other reason than prejudice against non messengers.
i started to ride a fixed gear bike because i found the whole concept interesting, now i have been riding fixed for around two years and my enthusiasm shows no sign of wavering. i do not ride fixed for cool points or to try to infiltrate the 'messenger scene' and its pretty tiring to be judged as a fake or poser.
