numerous little bumps, minor crashes and doorings, but a couple stand out:
pulling into the foyer at Bike Park in Covent Garden in front of a mechanic, then failing to unclip and falling sidways into a display of bikes. The mechanic looked at me and said "new pedals?"
heading over the bridge where Marc Bolan crashed and deciding (like a twat) to attempt to adjust my mydguard whilst in motion. I hit a bump and my finger slipped into the moving wheel. The bike stopped dead and I went over the top, landing on the back of my neck. Handily, a junior doctor stopped and called the ambulance, then a surgeon cycled by, stopped and felt my spine for serious injury. I was rushed off and my head x-rayed, but the main damage was my finger which was broken at the knuckle. I had hooks coming out of my hand for a while after the first operation, but then it started setting in the wrong direction, so they had to rebreak it and try again.

Had a bit of a scary insident last night. I was going at full pelt along the King's Rd when the lights turned to red ahead of me. I thought about carrying on, but decided to pull a long skid instead. However, my right foot unclipped and I hurtled toward the junction grappling with the bike. I was almost certain I was going to come off, but I managed to keep upright, skating along on my feet whilst holding the handlebars cursing all the way- like a water skier with tourettes. I know have a massive gash on my leg where the pedal hit it.
Stupidest thing is that I have a front brake, but not having touched it for a couple of months, actually using it was the last thing I thought of doing...

BoBoB Yeah what are they, they look like my Stronglights which bent in half a few weeks back :)
They look suspiciously like TA Specilities cranks. (like: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Strong-Light-compatable-TA-170mm-Cranks_W0QQitemZ280211475502QQihZ018QQcategoryZ56197QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
They'll need a TA specific crank puller if you want to remove them.

nimhbus arrghh..i really fucking hate the laughing rabbit-man-creature on the bike. It's a a bit heavy metal, a bit like we think we are all , like, mental, and we're out of control and take no prisoners and HAH HAHAHHA aren't we cool, when actually - we're just some blokes in london who ride bikes with one gear.
I vote for the Airfix kit, it's pure class, and really well executed, and will look great on black. it also says alot more about the fact that the building of bikes is a key part of the forum.
not being mental man-rabbit creatures.
+1. Seriously - whilst i appreciate it's well-drawn, it's pretty much just a representation of the Brick Lane hipster side of LFGSS. I'd actually be too embarrassed to wear it, but the airfix one is subtle enough that my non-cycling mates won't call me a sad cunt for wearing it.

provenrad I commute TO surbiton.. you can follow the A3 from Kingston to town, or go through Richmond Park, putney, fulham, chelsea, etc.. That is probably a really crap route though!
If you are willing to split only the front wheel let me know - my Dads bike has a steel front rim.. bless..Richmond Park, Putney, Fulham, Chelsea etc is exactly my route and it's a pretty good commute in fact. The A3 route is pretty dull except for the bit between Kingston Vale and Wandsworth, which is just plain scary.

unxetas So here goes.. I've been absent from this forum as I just haven't been riding my bikes that much. If at all. Moved away from London enough to make it impractical to commute by bike, not helped by our workplace limiting the number of bikes allowed in the car park. So I'm still riding my bike every now and then when I get a chance on weekends, but I just haven't had a chance to use my scott's bag as it should. I love it and it's a very reluctant sale, but it's silly to just have it there looking brand new. Pretty sure it never even got rained on and I must've ridden it like 5 times to work. It was the first smaller bag he sold, as far as I know! All black with orange interior. Beautiful.
Make me a good offer on that, or Scott, if you're around, you're welcome to take it back, check for any damage and re-sell it to someone on your waiting list? It'd be an easier sale for me and you could probably sell it with a discount and still make a good profit.
Also got a pair of brand new 27" wheels, can't remember what hubs and rims they've got.. Come with brand new tires and tubes as well. I got them from dogsballs and I think he'll probably still have a freewheel to go with it that I never had a chance to pick up. If you're around Dale, could you post back and let us know if that's gone? No worries either way, it's my fault anyway for not picking it up ;) The wheels will come with a free Polo project bike: old frame and forks, cheap pinned crankset and pedals. It wouldn't be good for anything other than a polo bike I reckon, but I got it for free and it'll be free for anyone who wants to pick it up from Surbiton (or waterloo on a weekend if you ask nicely!)
I'd like around £40 for the wheels, does that sound fair?
Cheers dudesss and dudettes, hope you're having more fun on your bikes than I am!
Don't suppose you have any pics of the frame at all?

I was another one on a bronze Budgie. My dad took me down to the park in Sydenham to learn. For some reason, he thought taking one stabiliser off at a time was a good idea. I ended up cycling leaning over to one side. When the stabiliser finally came off, I was terrified.
After crashing my Budgie attempting to go up the steep side of a skateboard ramp (that Chopper-style seat was quite unforgiving and prone to unexpected wheelies), I moved onto my brother's Striker with the fake suspension and coaster brake. I pinched his Raleigh Arena after that (which I also crashed) and then moved into the big league with a Raleigh Bomber which got nicked.

I was given morphine after the second finger operation - gave me nightmares.
