I picked up a mid/late '80s Ciocc frame (SL tubing) in my size for £30 on eBay. Bargain, I hear you cry. The only problem is that it's rusty as fuck.
Pics are on my flickr
Is there somewhere/someone in London that will derustify it?

ImOnCrank Hot damn, 55 posts and nary a snide remark, I need to get back to London.
I like this thread (and this forum) because it really should have turned into people bitching about how they've been riding fixed since the year dot, and how all these kids don't know shit. It just seemes to have turned into a series of little autobiographies all of its own accord. Long may london fgss stay this way.

It was very easy for the shop that I got it done at (not in london sadly), I just dropped it off before I went to tesco and it ws done by the time I had finished shopping. This was at a very professional roadie shop though, my friend went in there once and asked if they sold trouser clips, they just laughed at her. I suppose it depends if your LBS has a reamer and knows how to use it.

It's almost a pity you didn't go for the foreign fag-spoilers instead. What language is that?
I was going to go for pretty_bikes_make_graves when i signed up to another forum but i must have typo'd my email address and couldnt sign up again without choosing a different name. My bag was rattling that day. Lame I know.

le car can fakengers enter the messenger race?
Depends how good they are at faking it I suppose
Is anyone stewarding for the Grand Depart? I've just booked myself in at a briefing session with the hope of earning an "exclusive TdF goodybag". I'm hoping it's going to be full of testosterone and someone else's clean blood.

jon, I don't know yet to be honest, if I can get hold of them again it probably won't be till early next month. Haven't forgotten you though!
Those of you who wear sidis, how does the sizing seem? I just got a pair size 47 on ebay cos my 48 shimanos were a bit large, but I've heard they come up small, worried I wont be able to squeeze my plates of meat into them.

ATAC are my fave too, got a pair of aliums for £20, highly recommended. The brass cleats will wear though so check them every month or so. Used to ride SPDs but my front foot tended to unclip when skidding, although I've been told I was using the wrong kind of cleat (silver multirelease instead of the black twist-only type).

Bikes have always been a great way to get around london if you haven't got enough money to fill Ken's coffers. Used to be a clunky old mtb, then graduated to a clunky old road bike when I started commuting 5 days a week. Took it to pieces cos it stopped working, and it sort of turned into a fixed wheel when I put it back together. That was about a year ago now. I'd heard about messengers riding fixed, but I never realised it was so popular until I saw people from school on track bikes.
Who lean-locked their invisible bike at Max's?
She's bloody saucy on screen. That's why I carried on watching Blue Peter till I was 13
