I sent the pictures and the video to a carbon frame repair specialist and it looks like I may have a problem here....
"The clamp insert has debonded and/ or cracked inside the seat tube. We have repaired these in the passed by as a design these do fail from time to time so we cannot guarantee the life span of this although the repair is the same as an original bond maybe slightly stronger."
I guess it is time for some repairs. Sadly I will have to strip all the components:(

Hello everyone.
I have this Bianchi Oltre XR2. I'm not sure if this has been around from the beginning to be honest but I've noticed that if I try to push the saddlepost forward, there is a small "wiggle".
Now, the saddlepost does not move neither up nor down so I guess the clamp is actually camping.
I wonder if this very very little wiggle is acceptable or I'm risking my life by riding it on road (currently on the turbo trainer).
I've tried to upload a video. wasnt easy to move the saddlepost and keep the phone steady. if you look carefully you'll see it wiggle. Thanks -
Hello @rsouth, are the aero bars still available?

Something I did not mention is that it took me literally hours to remove the old cables from the shifters. I noticed the bike shop used Shimano cables for my campagnolo group set and both brakes and gear heads ended up stuck in the shifters :(
I managed to catch the brake with pliers but the gear was a completely different story. I had to disassemble the shifter and use fire to make the head slightly melt the plastic so I could move it :'(
In the end I did it and then I decided to work on it tonight to catch up on the time wasted.
Started from a naked nirone and now I have a Potenza Nirone7! Next step, cables!

Hello guys, I have a question, hopefully quick to answer.
I have a set of campagnolo chorus 12 shifters (perchased used with 1200miles on them) still to assemble but I have the feeling they will be "hard" as when trying them while unconnected, I struggle to press the thumb lever.
I was thinking about giving them a good clean but I have no idea which grease to use in the moving parts once degreased. Any idea?
Online I find very different opinions and not a shared one. Thanks -

My question was exactly because I was not able to understand all the technicalities and maybe here someone could help me understand if out of the 2 one could be Better.
From an aesthetic point of view the 2014 seems to be more in line with the rest of the bike while the 6061 matches exactly with the stem.
Apart from this I don't have much more reason why I was asking about the alloy.
Thanks
