Hi all,
I'm taking a break from stripping wallpaper and don't want to delve into the world of plastering/skimming/lining paper yet so going to start a new project.
I'd like to have a go at making this.
I picked up these heavy wood kitchen worktops for free (don't have a car so walked 2 miles with them and my forearms ached for a week) which I think will be suitable.
For tools I have:
- cheap mitre saw I got for free
- £36 Aldi drill and impact driver
- detail sander I got for free but the velcro is shot
- bunch of chisels and hand saws
- tape measures
- dust mask, safety glasses, earmuffs
- birthday coming up and Dad ordered me a circular saw (won't be expensive though)
obviously not the arsenal many have and don't have the budget to get too much but what else would you recommend?
I'm thinking
- a rafter square to use as a guide
- long spirit level
- eventually will need a router
- perhaps need to investigate the blades on the power saws
- cheap mitre saw I got for free

Not sure if this is better here or DIY but has anyone had a go at making some shelves like this?

I picked up some old oak kitchen worktops which I think are decent for the wood but that's as far as I've got

Update:
Couple of seeds managed to sprout and have got to an inch tall but very much stagnated from there. Same happened last year, i repotted them in better compost last year so maybe I'll try that again.
The overwintered ones though have seen a positive uplift, quite a few leaves forming so popped them outside for a few hours to maximise sun and start hardening them off.

I want to try CX this year and even though this is too small and gearless it's still tempting, really should keep looking though
-=- EDIT-=-
@grm is a good seller too, bought a gilet from him last year and it was shipped quick and as described (if not better than expected) -

I'm assuming damp?
Been taking wallpaper off that I'm guessing has been here 20 years or so. It largely comes off in huge chunks as appears it's been painted over a handful of times (true all over, not just in this section)
There's this worrying section here though.
I'm guessing damp and I'm guessing it's because it's adjacent to the bathrooms.
Is there any way of diagnosing the underlying issue and if it's already been addressed?

Much less success from my side, the 2 I overwintered are still showing little progress and the seeds from 2 weeks ago are no different. Started again a few days ago but appears to be a dud.
Really regret knocking the pot over from the ones that managed to sprout from some seeds from last year now as got nothing.
thanks, didn't know about those joiners, bit more than budget allows atm but will set up some ebay alerts. Dowel jig looks decent though, presumably can be used in general for drilling perpendicular holes?
The groove is going to be the challenge..I was thinking I'd probably have to saw it in half at 45deg and just flip one side over. Piece will probably be too wide to use the mitre saw but maybe you can do it in 2 cuts if you flip it round? Otherwise will have to see what features the incoming circular saw has and just clamp (oh..clamps!) a piece of wood to it
