Have you built the wheel yet?
This set up is in essence what I use. The front hub conversion is just that, a conversion so needs axle spaces to fit rear. Therefore I put hub in frame with sprocket on and play with spacers until I have got a straight line. I found this easier than trial and error axles lengths, plus non square taper don’t give you a choice anyway.
The sprocket can also be spaced out by washers 1 mm at a time to fine tune if ever needed
Actually the main reason for me using 6 bolt over screw on is exactly this - tuning rear to fit front
Hope this helps -

I’ve had a cross check for 20+ years and love it.
I have come across this a few times and , without teaching you to suck eggs, worth noting -As said before, a decent Shimano steel shaft internal cam quick release. Do not accept any other inferior product! Titanium etc can be a problem waste of time
Hurdy gurdy does work. Have found that hubs with a aluminium axle need it, but Shimano steel axle hubs don’t.
Also, many modern hubs seem to be designed for drop outs that are thicker than surly steel ones. I have found that the axle section that protrudes into drop out has been too long and the spring did not have enough room to compress and therefore stopped the quick release from being able to grip drip out securely. Try removing springs just to find out.
Is it a new frame? Is paint interfering? Won’t be long before that’s sorted out by qr eating it up.
Nutted fixed wheel hubs totally fine!
Good luck

Dear Tester,
Please can you help! I’ve kept up to speed on the latest research regarding chain lubrication and wear and can definitely say that the SILCA synergetic lube , although expensive , does pay as chains really do last much longer , for me. I have read your advice on chains and it has proven to be very useful , thanks!
Cassettes though - I think I have searched the thread correctly - and ready to be corrected-but is there a difference in wear rate between price points? Ultegra vs 105 vs Microshift? I think my Shimano basic hg400 cassettes in 8/9 speed seem some of the most durable but anecdata troubles me.
I have sleepless nights searching inter web but not enough google fu to find anything. Please can you help? -

Thanks for reply. Gunna do it - go for use I think. Also because I am cheap and always end up buying twice. Rotation play- that a thing to worry about on suspension posts?
Set up - how do you account for sag? Trial and error?
Other point I like with USE is the reach is same with bounce. Do you notice the backward movement on thudbuster?
I guess I need to just do it and feedback rather than getting others to do it for me! -
Looking to dip my toes in the world of bouncy posts!
Anyone got any feed back on the use vybe? Looks simplest of all and tuneable.
Main use is for audax and touring. I know it can’t make a saddle more comfortable- my butt hurts on some Zwift rides with obvs no bumping- but hope it will help with tenderness on day 3+. After a few days it’s amazing how much more weight I put on saddle due to tired legs.
How do you all deal with saddle bags etc? I normally use a Carradice bagman - will it be a problem? Or a bike packing bag etc? Or is it olde world rack and panniers?
Me and my butt would appreciate your advice! -

It’s an odd one. Badged a Ken hill but don’t know anything about him. 99.9% it is a diamond back 26er from I think 91/92. Had it a while. There are quicker rides but it makes me happy. Fix will be tricky as if is tig welded. Maybe just some more zip ties! it would be an interesting test of lifetime warranty.

Bumpy cobbled roads of saxony broke my butt, then finally my frame.
Clean through snap but jagged edges line up so…..
If you can’t fix it with zip ties it’s because you didn’t use enough zip ties.
Needed to last 20km to train station, but it worked so well got me 200km to berlin. Bike became a lot more comfy on cobbles! -
Hi all
Need to replace my fixed sprocket on my road fixed bike. That’ll each me to clean me to clean it.
I have a 6 bolt disc rear hub fixed set up. So easy to change chain line to hit perfection!
Always used velo solo sprockets that were totally excellent and lasted 10,000s of km and years of all weather use, including flipping over for double life!
However I have discovered that they are no longer made!
I have bought a couple of bike punx stainless sprockets but although lovely made only last a few months.Anyone got any other suggestions? Rather not rebuild to get a screw on fixed hub - 130mm back end and personal chain line and all that .

Marmite option….
All day comfort, one pair only needed for on off bike and dry within a few seconds of rain stopping. There is also the secret forbidden joy of wearing with socks.
Genuine reply . No piss taking intended. But you do need/revel in not caring much about what people think, like my nans knitted tank top gillet also implies -

That sounds like good planning- getting around with food to spare rather than finishing wishing you had more!
My dad had 30 year old army surplus hot chocolate which he bought new and kept in his bag as back up.
Bit alarmed when he cooked them up and fed my kids with them. Think it was more shocking that they survived the experience- what was in them to last 30 years? -
Hi
I’ve been using a super c full size and smaller audax bags for over a decadeOne of the reasons I keep going back to them is because the bagman support takes about 60 seconds to fit and less to take off- sadly every time I do it I time it!
Need about 15-20mm of saddle rail to fit
If you got a heavy load you can reinforce the bag man support with some struts that fit to a bracket that fits on seat pin or if you have them, rack eyelets but if you ride mainly road not sure really needed.
Supports well, no sway and no leg rub. Love it
Oh dear not what I wanted to hear as just bought an silk+ and ergon saddle for my old man gooch. Hope your shredding unshreds . Any tips on this combo in all your 100s if adjustments?
Well done on an October 400!
