I have some JBL L52 classics, they really pack a punch for a bookshelf sized speaker. Other half approves of the retro styling. I think RRP is circa £1k, but i got mine for £600ish i think. Would reccomend. I have them paired with a Cambridge Audio CXA81 amp.
I will deffo be getting the bigger L82 or L100's if/when we move somewhere with suitably sized living room to accommodate.

Ritchey slapped Talbot Frameworks with a cease and desist pretty quick when they used the Ritchey breakaway seat cluster design on @Dammit 's red & white Tintin bike 5/6 years ago.

I got Van Damme Blue series Studio Cable from ebay. Think I paid circa £25 for two 2m lengths. The seller cuts them to length, strips the ends and and tidies them up with a bit of heat shrink too. I added. I fitted some banana plugs to mine.
Struggle to see why anyone would pay for anything more fancy TBH.

Not trying to say all kids will be the same in anyway, (I very much hope not in fact!) but looking back, I probably should have made him more aware of the financial commitment required if you chose to listen to music on vinyl compared to streaming before going through the ball ache of getting him set up with a half decent turntable. I Never really considered that the act of paying for music can be quite an alien concept to some younger people.
Sounds like you're nephew is deffo a bit more financially mature than mine was at that age!

My nephew showed similar interest a few years ago (hes now 22). I gifted him some of my old equipment to get him up and running. He lost interest pretty quickly after he released that listening to vinyl means you have to actually buy the music you want to listen to.
I think its something that people who have grown up only ever knowing streaming as their sole way of listening to music struggle to comprehend until they go to a record shop and realise vinyl is expensive unless you're willing to put in the footwork digging for bargains, which my nephew was 100% not willing to do.

My Cambridge Audio CXA81 gave up the ghost last night. Has gone into CAP5 DC protection mode. Factory reset not working. Making awful loud clicks and buzzing noises from inside when switched on, then instantly going into CAP5 mode.
Currently two weeks shy of two years old. Two year warranty. Emailed CA today. Fingers crossed.

I got Lagom studio to make mine to my specs (specific length, and one of the sections adjusted with a shelf to take an amp above and 7's below). Was circa £800 or my 190 cm length unit from memory. Very happy with it. Super nice guy. sent some screenshots of CAD rendering before hand to check the layout of shelves was how I wanted. Can be made up to 3M in length i think.

I hear the rebrand is all just an elaborate ploy to try and make Americans pronounce the name correctly.
