I’m tentatively thinking of putting something together for the winter so this is a vague enquiry. Something with roadish geo ideally. Alloy or carbon (or Ti!), not massively keen on steel this time. Clearance for 28mm+ and mudguards. Through axle would be nice. Budget isn’t huge, £300 maybe. Oh, and I’m in Bristol. Thanks.

This chainstay bridge looked a bit suspect before the frame went in for a powder coat and it has returned with two holes blasted in it. Any advice for what to do other than binning it?

Having looked at what I already have, what I really need is a 24t cog if anyone has one going.

I'm toying with the idea of entering some hill climbs but I'm gonna need some friendly gearing. Has anyone got some big 1/8" cogs that might be surplus to requirements?

I did not cos I have no immediate use for any of that stuff and no space either, but that didn’t prevent intense feelings of regret when I saw that it had sold!

One for Bristol people. Full Carbon Easton 1" fork and a Chris King headset make this very tempting even if the frame is pretty trashed. Posting in the hope someone buys it before I'm compelled to.

Full disclosure - these bearings are a bit rough. They improved after I gave them a perfunctory service and they may fare better still with a proper one, but I wouldn’t be aiming to use them on your best bike. No top cap, bolt or scuff washer, and the lower bearing needs a new seal. £35 posted, less collected in Bristol.

Anything in the high-60s gear inches is a lovely long-distance ratio IMO. Though I did a near flat-out 20 miles on the above Witcomb on 88" yesterday and it was tremendous fun!

I came across this frame when idly browsing marketplace earlier. Maybe they’ll split the headset and post it, though I’m not sure how complete it is?
