Hi,
I've broken down a right hand dura ace 7700 brifter that shifts up, but requires fiddling to shift down. having cleaned it, and reassembled 3 times, I now realise the problem is exactly the one described here (bottom of the page): https://www.norvil.net/pedal/service/shimanosti/duraace9sti/detail.php
there's a throw away line at the end...
Some folks have asked 'can't I just file the burrs off the cage?'.
Sadly not. The profile is very important to syncronise the motion of
the inner and outer levers, as described above. You have to add metal
first. A TIG with a stainless steel filler rod would be ideal because
stainless work hardens.Has anyone tried this? the TIG welding bit? I might be able to ask a friend, just seeing if anyone has tried before?

Hey @ectoplasmosis, do you still have this available for lending? do you have the headset removal and crown race tools too?

@allister Hi, is the dura ace headset still knocking around? how much would you let it go for?

Hi, I have a cannondale CAAD3 frame that I'd like ot equip in era fitting gear, plus the yellow and blue branding is lovely.
I need everything, but I can piece it together from several people.
I'm in south London and work around Euston, so ideally somewhere in reach.
Looking for double rather than triple, not super fussed on particular toothcounts.
The seat tube is 31.8mm, no braze on for the front derailleur.
Not opposed to downtube shifters as the frame has the fittings for them.
Not looking for pristine, I'm on a budget, just would like some of the yellow and blue branding remaining.Have I missed out any info? Am I asking for too many things?
hello, did the 7700 brifters get got?
