anyone got a surplus hand grinder? I bought a Timemore from aliexpress as a present for my daughter, but it did not arrive despite their system saying it did. They insist I send a photo proving its non-delivery. ... It is for V60 and aeropress, but possible espresso capability is nice but not essential.

thank you, yes it is a nice thing, I doubt there are many similar around so a fair price is tricky. I have had some interest and will circulate some photos. I would really like it to be better used by someone on here. There was no build sheet of course, I went in the shop, they measured me, went out the back to discuss, and came out with just 2 measurements (in inches).

Any interest in my Roberts Road Fixed? Size 54/55. Reynolds 725. Lightly used. Inspired by LFGSS it was built for me in Selhurst in c 2005 and has had very little use. I am 5ft 8, but there is only a fistfull of seatpost so you could be longer legged. It was built up at the shop using some parts they sourced and others from the original Hubjub - Sugino (48x18), Nitto quill, Royce hubs, Mavic Open Pros by Harry Rowland, ugly Nitto pursuit bars. It is on 30mm tyres and mudguards. Light blue/grey. Mark on bb from a dropped chain. No seatpost. I do not know its value but you might and I will be sensible. East Sussex, I can share further info/pics via DM then whatsapp. thanks.

No high performance needed. It's 70% tarmac, 30% hilly gravel. No mud, no big rocks, a little of grassy trails. That might mean somewhere between XC and all mountain? I am not planning anything extreme in Morzine, just mellow mucking about in the hills. Something comfy and puncture resistant, the holy grail I know.

How nice of your daughter. The Seiko Alpinist is still heavily discounted at WoS in brown to £310. Nice looking watch, half sporty, but looks sharp too. V good value.
I have an apple watch and agree with Regal, it is good for fitness motivation/tracking, and many other clever things that a young man might play with. You don't really need the top of the range. The fitness functions may not be very accurate, but you can compare your performance from day to day. I wear mine for a couple of months on and off. If he is slim the c44m ones are pretty chunky. Charging it every day is a bit of a pain, but a young bloke will just put it on a multi charger with his other stuff. I am pleased I have one. Loads of cheap straps to keep it fresh, and so many display changes.

I used to live in a cottage on the golf course (sorry) and I hope it is reasonably clear for you as the light is beautiful there. The ever present breeze (it's always called a breeze in the club no matter how strong) is usually from the SW. And sometimes from the N! I would join you on my Roberts fixed road but no way am I up to it these days. Enjoy.

Agree with comments having been in a similar situation. Keep your training spicy for now, meantime obsess about the specific programme you might like to follow from c end of June. But I would suggest building some LSDs chatting with a mate before then - if anything (lurgie/niggle) disrupts them in the run up it will feel good to have them in the bank. I wish I had done this.
