Plenty of photos if you want. Don’t seem to be able to load from iPad but can text.
I’ve rejoined this forum after a few years break so don’t have a lot of rep (new user name as completely forgot previous incarnation) but I’m a long-standing member (and a moderator) on the Airgun Forum under the same user name if you would like a reference (as it were).

Anyone want to make me an offer? Good used condition (to be fair, left hand grip needs replacing - I think the pair are £7 from Islabike) but otherwise not bad at all. Always dry stored, dropped a couple of times (well, ridden by a child as first bike) but nothing worse than a few light scratches.
Can easily flat pack and post (I’m in Gloucester).
Hell - do I have to host on photobucket or similar? Can’t seem to drop photos from the iPad.
It is the red one…..

I recently got my fixed Trek District back from my brother. This was a loving build (built the wheels, customised just about everything) and he has raped it for parts.
I can easily re-upgrade the front calliper (he’s put a 105 0n there) but it had a Raleigh Special Products Ti stem from the eighties and some Ti bull bars (no idea of provenance). Now has a crap MTB stem and some pitted chrome bars off a BSO.
Does anyone have a nice stem and/or a nice set of bull bars spare in the parts bin? I’m not rolling in cash given the circs, but open for nice kit - especially if a little retro vibe (yeah, I know, District etc - but it actually works).
Thanks!

Back to rice cookers however.
If my diet went toward eating rice three or four times a week I would get a rice cooker, it would be a no brainer.
As I cook rice probably once a month…….
My little Le Creuset pot which has, as its lid, tiny cast iron frying pan does the job for rice beautifully. Had it well over twenty years and enjoy the really ugly seam from where I dropped it on a stone flagged floor, broke the handle off the frying pan bit and welded it back on.
When it isn’t making rice it is rather good for sauces, boiled eggs, asparagus, small soup batches etc.
Yeah rice cooker! Come at me bro!

Cooking rice is the simplest thing in the world!
Works equally well for basmati and sticky rice (which are the only kinds of rice anyway).
Measure your rice into a smallish pot with a tight fitting lid. For four people I use a coffee mug filled with rice to the level you’d fill it with coffee.
Cold tap, using fingers swish the rice. Pour out the water. Repeat until the water is mostly clear. Drain fully.
Now add exactly twice the volume of cold water as the measured volume of rice. So in this case two coffee mugs.
Do not add salt, stock or anything else. Just cold water.
Loosely fit the lid onto the pot (because it will come to the boil faster obvs.) and put it onto the heat until it is boiling properly.
Remove from heat. Jam that lid on tight. Sit the pot on a nice non conductive surface (like a breadboard) and cover it in tea towels for insulation.
When you are done with the rest of your cooking (or circa 20 minutes) take off the lid and fluff with a fork if basmati. Let cool if sticky.
It will be perfect EVERY SINGLE TIME.
You’re welcome.

Time for garlic to go in - and broad beans!
We’re just clearing out the poly tunnel and redesigning things for the new growing season.
This time round I’m dividing the tunnel (it’s a big one) into rooms with trellis acting both as dividers and wind bracing. Possibility something naughty might be grown behind all of the tomatoes.
Fruit bushes are consolidated (looking forward to the honey berries fruiting next year).
Love this stuff (must be getting old).

Used to be on here a lot a few years ago but login details lost (can’t even recall my user name!)
Current stable is a Harry vs Larry Bullitt, a fixed Gates drive Trek mashup and a CAAD Cross bike with a front disc conversion.
Oh, and something almost unrideable from the forties with rod brakes and a skeleton saddle.
Excellent. I’ll PM you.
