A criminal barrister offered to help him? Which, after checking out the guy, I took to mean pro bono. I don't disagree with you but that seems a pretty strong response to me saying I was 'slightly heartened' by something. I wasn't suggesting that lawyers are the magic bullet that is going to turn the UK into a functioning democracy.

I think it would be way too small. The reason it's sitting around collecting dust and not being ridden is because my housemate picked it up on a whim and it's about two sizes too small for him at 5'9". For context, I'm 6'4" and it looks like a child's bike next to me.
Best of luck on your search, though. I'm sure someone on here will have something!

Got an old Specialized Rockhopper going cheap: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/376093/#comment16541499
But it needs a fair bit of work so probably not ideal if you've got a day to sort it.

Shoutout to @BareNecessities for the rear derailleur. It came very quickly and was packaged better than most shops.
Also to @Glws for his patience in waiting for me to collect a chainring I bought weeks ago.

Yeah, I tend to avoid the canal, green way and Springfield Park for this reason. That and it's impossible to ride down the canal unless it's pre 8 am. > https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/260063/
