hey i was just about to purchase my hub... when i realized ambrosio zeniths probably are not the "zeniths" you were talking about.
i mean these: https://www.totalcycling.com/Mobile/en/Ambrosio-Zenith-Large-Flange-Track-Hub---Rear/m-m-17294.aspxare not these:https://thecycleclinic.co.uk/collections/hubs/products/zenith-track-hubs-front-or-rear-24h-28h-or-32h-black-or-silver
which im guessing is the model you were talking about... i clearly see another design in the bearing locking system.
...mmh i'm a bit upset :)

cheers! your technical disquisitions got me mentally horny as fuck about hubs... i've been thinking about them to sink them in...
thank you very much, i learnt a lot.novatecs are quite obtainable here in italy...
i think my choice has now boiled down to novatecs vs ambrosio zeniths.
zenith is the only lowbudget hub easily available /w 36 holes.
i weight 63-65kg, but for my style of riding (pretty raw) and glorious Rome city pavement state (also pretty raw)..
what do you think? should i go 36?
also im' starting to wonder... how many spoke crossings? at least 2, that i do know... :) [im mostly concerned about the rear, the front doesn't bother me] -
ok you're telling me something i don't quite know... it sounds to me like miche uses the same design as old vintage hubs (which is the only thing i know) BUT with sealed bearings... am i right? WHILE other hubs use another design i'm not aware of
what about novatecs?@Skülly
we are talking ambrosio zenith right? ok notedalso thank you everybody for the infos!

hey there!
i'm going to build a set of wheels (or at least a rear wheel) for my first fixed gear bike. i'll use it mainy for street riding. already have a track steel frame.i hve access to a couple of nice rims, but i need hubs (also spokes...)
what are some nice, entry level (as in cheap) hubs i could buy? durable for street riding?
i was thinking about :miche primato high flange (found the couple for 67eur)
miche primato low flange (couple for 65 eur)
novatec (heard they're durable) (found rear hub for 30 eur)also ...lo or hi flange?

yeah. but those "zeniths" on your site ( i take that is you...?) definetely don't look like formulas, cheap like fish n chips :) ...so i was wondering if you have some info on them. thank you! ;D
