Smiley Culture stabbed himself in his own kitchen, one of the chief concerns was there wasn’t enough police restraint of him as he was allowed to go into his own kitchen. I’m not aware of any suggestion that the police killed him or injured him in any way.

There’s a video montage here, it’s a lot less clear cut in video, he’s driving in a fairly dangerous manner with police all around the vehicle on foot. Split second decision, genuine belief in a fairly dramatic situation, jury seem to have accepted that.

I’m more surprised that someone is employed as on officer by mps at 65+ than the fitness element.
The other thing for me would be fitness testing is not the same as reaction testing which is more relevant to biking / fast car work.

Strange thing is the person charged appears to have been at least 65 years old and serving as a police motorcyclist on escort duties.

No real need but i justified them to myself that they’d be useful for strolling around rural Kerry in - as opposed to my dunlop wellingtons or screwfix boots.
I have some of there boots and they are a very tough bit of kit but comfortable, proper craftsman made shoes.

These have just arrived after the full twenty week wait.
William Lennon 157 hill shoes but without the tongue overlay and with a semi-sprung last rather than the standard full.
Seem comfortable straight from the box and solid - really solid. I think if you hit someone with one you could kill them they are that heavy. -
