I replaced a mid fork mount, that had torn out with one of these and some JB weld. It lasted years, in fact it’s probably still going strong somewhere or other now.

I’ve just moved the gear twist shifter round as yes it did indeed touch the brake lever under real pressure, suboptimal. I’ve also put some Pedro on the chain. Thanks again for the heads up.
Oh, I’ve also fitted a gawd awful wicker basket to the front, only temporarily until she finds a ‘nice crate’ or ‘cool rando bag’

Well Liz picked her Gazelle up today and it’s awesome! It should mean our golf is going to spend a whole load more time sat on the drive, which is nice. A big thank you to Bicycle Links Norwich for sorting it out for her. Just need to add some crates and that’s the shopping run sorted as well.

And the ply liner is starting to rot…

I’ve just looked and the brakes are tektro rx5, got them for the SWorks tricross, but lost them :/ and the levers are Fly Bikes Manual CNC BMX ones, got them because they came in a nice box :D will they work together? I’ve forgotten everything I knew about MTB stuff.

Nice sentiment, going to be a nice bike.
That shifter is a top repair, I ran a bolt JB welded to a broken QR for years on one of my bikes, it now lives in the memories box in the loft.

I was clearing out one of the sheds and I found a few bags of crap (WI cranks, Flybikes levers, set of new Vbrakes,prologo saddle etc) and my old mid ‘90s Trek 8000 frame and a pair of Kinesis Maxlight forks, well it would be rude not to. So… just needs cables, cassette spacers and some time, time is the killer.

If that’s the best they can do without the insert, then insert it is :)

I’m external all the way, but if you have to run an internal this is my favourite route

You have to get though 2 sets of gates to get to the racks and it’s pretty well over looked, so most don’t even bother with that level of security.

This has turned up in the bike shed a work, loving the guard/rack combo. Hub gears/brakes and a dyno what’s not to like?

A chap at works CAAD8 I did a nasty SS conversion on it for him, because he didn’t want to throw good money after bad repairing it :p
