Have you ridden one? I was considering one for my partner's Brompton, for the price it looks great. Although I did hear a rumour that the OLD had to be increased to fit the motor in the rear??!

Boards are only about 200mm wide so shouldn't need a huge bandsaw. They're actually shelves so not critical that they're perfectly flat, I think a bit of hand planing after will get them good enough. Peckham Reclamation is right down the street so yeah prob a good first point of call, thanks.

I have a few solidwood boards (maybe x6 ~800mm lengths) which are currently around 40mm thick. I want them resawn to a more sensible thickness, which should be a simple job for a bandsaw with a ripping blade. Anyone know of anywhere in South London I could get this done?

The glove over brush trick is genius. Although usually when painting (or doing bike work) by the time I think to put on gloves my hands are already filthy...

That tray arm kit looks functionally appealling but £35 for a bit of plastic attached to a roller tray seems steep! Will definitely get one of the paint pails though, looks a great find.

What are the forum-approved paint brushes and rollers? Is it worth paying more for something premium or just stick to the cheapo stuff?

My best street find was an expensive Brabantia bin which someone had ditched due to the latch breaking... for which you can buy a replacement for about £4. The kicker was that subsequently the mating part of the latch broke, which is not user replaceable so I called up Brabantia and they sent a complete top part replacement free of charge, with the caveat that the part wouldn't be covered under warranty in the future as I didn't have the original purchase receipt!

I've been riding them for a while, they're nice. Good in the wet and few punctures. Tanwall tyres on a Brompton are a false economy though; it's impossible to keep them clean if you ride in anything but the driest of weather.

The Schwalbe Almotion which are on the Barbour special edition are tanwall with a reflective strip. Not sure if it's possible to source them separately though.

What's your verdict on the Conti Contact Speeds? I was considering them for a recent 26er build but ended up going for the Contact Urbans due to positive experience using them on the Brompton. Was concerned the Speeds might be a bit fragile due to the skinwall. Also found it surprising that Conti state the Speeds as being heavier than the Urbans!?

Have just stripped banisters to reveal this monstrosity. Hoping to avoid the nuclear option of replacing this section and also don't want to paint back over. Advice on how to proceed? Thinking options are either standard tinted filler or clear epoxy? Any recommendations for either of those? Thanks!
