With chest height weeds I doubt turning the soil will help much.
You might want to think about sheet/cardboard mulching the area. Will help with the weeds and get the soil ready for some planting in Spring.
Essentially lay cardboard down on the area, cover it with some organic matter, water it and let it breakdown over autumn and winter.

Thanks Airhead, good to know and makes life easier. Wasn't fun scraping off the affected area (literally hundreds of small bubbles all over the wall, real trypophobia trigger)
Interesting re Gardz - it is walls in question but filling was minimal. I thought it would be the undercoat because of the difference in how the walls reacted vs ceiling (no bubbles there). Both got a topcoat of Benjamin Moore Aura Bath and Spa but only the walls had an undercoat of Berger Matt Emulsion because the old paint was dark.

Anyone used Zinsser Bullseye 123 before? Does it need the full 7 days cure time before topcoating in emulsion?
I'm trying to rectify a poor bathroom job by our decorators - we were ending up with loads of small bubbles after showering, likely because the undercoat wasn't fully dry before topcoating. I was able to scrape off most of the affected areas so plan was the use Bullseye - let it dry - then repaint.

Looked into this a few months back when we moved... ended up getting a second hand Ligne Roset Multy. It's really comfortable as a sofa but comes into its own as a bed.
Also looked at the Muji T2 which is great but wasn't as comfortable as a sofa (didn't try it as a bed). Heal's Oswald sofabed also good for something more 'sofa' looking

Interesting - with all the other wet ingredients (yolks, butter) the final dough hydration in that recipe is effectively > 80%.
I'd suspect that the MM flour was near it's limits in terms of hydration by Step 6. Maybe hold back water at Steps 7 & 8. Add just enough such that it looks like the canadian flour dough at that stage
