My worry with nail varnish in this case is that it is basically the same as clear modelling lacquer with the same sort of applicator so will most probably still leave marks. I'm going to get the lacquer touch up pen as mentioned above so will try that too. Masking and spraying isn't a bad shout, I could rub back any plastic that gets a bit of lacquer on.

Finally back on the Tommasini, some pictures coming soon. I've stripped the loose lacquer from the carbon derailleur parts and repainted with clear modelling glue. It is working fine, except for marks from the brush. Any advice? Anything anyone has used before that comes up well? I'd take the carbon parts off and spray them except as far as I can tell I can't take the derailleurs fully apart. They are campag 11 speed record for the.. record.

Looking for suggestions: recently bought myself a lovely Santa Cruz Chameleon in med with 27.5 inch wheels and 140mm fox 34s instead of the usual 120mm. Bike came with a 60mm stem and a 72cm bar. I'm about 5.9 and a half. The med fits fine, although I definitely feel I could tweak the fit. It feels slightly short and twitchy at the front end so am looking at either a slightly longer stem, or wider bars. I also want to counteract the slacker angle from the longer fork so it isn't harder uphill etc. I'm tempted to try 29 at some point, until I do I'm wondering about increasing tyre size. ATM I've got some nice maxxis 2.3inch skinwalls on, tempted to try bigger possibly plus. Any advice on any of this? Are plus size tyres good? Looking to make the bike a bit less twitchy, and faster

Yeah I tend to use a wand. Being a stout in dark bottles some of these were slightly fuller than usual but most have about 2-3cm headspace.
The only thing I can think of was that it was higher (1018 as opposed sto about 1014) than I usually bottle, although it had had over 2 weeks in the primary, first week around 20c. I'm wondering if I didn't add enough extra yeast to counteract the extra sugar although if have thought that would lead to extra fizz in the bottle.
so the one on my bike is record or athena? how can you tell the difference?
