Could someone open my mind up to the different uses for 102 Vs 111 mm axles in Eng and Ita bottom brackets? I have a vintage set of Campagnolo Record cranks, and presume I need an 111mm BB to go along with it but what's the difference? Is 102 for a single crank ring? Also if anyone has a good condition campag record Italian thread BB in 111mm for sale let me know please! I'll out it in wanted

That is a smart stem, it fits in well. The reason I chose the prime doyenne is the clean lines. A lot of modern stems can look too bulky for me. It's also quite angular which goes well with the ciamillo brake profiles etc. Retro bikes are either all curves or all lines it seems and I wanted to go with lots of lines on this
Perhaps if I get some more cash to spend on the build I could look at getting a D S stem. They cost a lot more than I spent on this one! Would also want to get rid of the branding. I'm trying to stick to no or minimal branding

The debate re quill Vs adaptor and stem is one I've thought a lot about, I have two other classic frames with quill stems on and they obviously look spot on. However I wanted to be able to run 31.8 mm handlebars and keep the entire build apart from the frame modern. Modern stems on vintage frames can look smart IMO, as in above two blue Tommasinis, and I wanted to stiffen the front end up. Not sure this one is the right one yet, suspect it doesn't have enough drop on it. The adaptor will be completely hidden, it never looks good with adaptor sticking out all over the place.... And I think the black front end should be set off well with the wheels etc. I think it will all come together when it's completed, won't know until then!

Hi folks, new here. Thought I'd share the start of this project. This is a dream build for me, always had to use what I could get cheap as money isn't very forthcoming! But we got a bit and I wanted to treat myself to a gorgeous bike build. These frames are stunning and I wanted to compliment it with the some of the best modern components to build a bike that is lovely to look at and to ride. I've still got some more bits to save up for and am going to build the wheels myself but I thought I'd wack all the bits on and see how the bike looks. It will be highlighted with pink hubs, jockey wheels and tape etc to contrast with the blue. Lovely

I couldn't quite work out if you can't run UT on square taper BB. I wanted to go with square taper as I already have the vintage cranks, but is it better/can you fit a modern press fit BB to an old Italian threaded frame and fit UT? Lots of compatibility issues to get my head around....
