sorry after rereading I do come across as a dick ahaha
I meant that in comparison with using a single speed cog I don't see the point because the advantages you mentioned are there already, especially if, like you mention, you find the "back going light too unsettling". I get your point of it being an incremental comfort thing although I don't feel the same, I feel it would be an inconvenience. But like someone said, to each their own. I never said it was a problem.

Probably wishful thinking, but is this safe to ride?
For context, this was an old Vitus 181 bike I bought cheap and was going to restore without spending any money. I did end up buying the sprays to paint it yellow but after everything was nice and cleaned up and ready to build, this happened. It was literally the first thing I did, press the headset cups in. I'm guessing the bike was probably in an accident before and sustained damage that I couldn't see because as soon as I turn the headset press, the head tube buckled. Really sucks, after the respray and everything...anyway, since this was going to be a cheap beater bike, it makes no sense to buy a new frame so I'll either sell all the parts (which is a huge pain in the ass) or...just use this frame.
Both cups don't hold at all and will slip in easily by hand so I'd have to loctite them in place.

Don't mean to come across as a dick but if you want a rear brake to control your cadence and you can't manage the speed of your bike with your legs (and if you use your front brakd often), I don't see a point in riding fixed. It's counter-intuitive. A single speed cog would be ideal for that kind of use.

While announcing the surprisingly good figure for unemployment in the US, Trump seriously thought it was a good idea to mention George Floyd and say he was looking down and thinking this was a great day for America
ahahahaahha this fucking guy
I imagine all the people smacking their foreheads at the white house
he also said it was the greatest comeback in American history

I don't have a twitter account and don't really know how to use it but everytime I open a link to a Trump tweet, the top reply is always some bizarre tweet of support that has nothing to do with the tweet it's replying to, from an obvious fake account with some random pic of a hot girl you can reverse image search. I imagine all the likes that put it on top are from fake accounts too

so I'm not British and actually have never been there but recently lost my job and I'm starting to rethink my life now that I'm near my 30s - moving is an option and despite Brexit there is a possibility of me getting work in London. I've always lived in shared apartments here due to the high cost of living compared to salaries (Portugal) and would like to finally have my own place, but I'm wondering if that's possible at all over there seeing it's not even close here even with the above average salary I had. What would you say is a good enough salary to lead a normal middle class life, renting a studio apartment and still managing to save up, say, 200 to 300£ a month in London?
