I ran 1x on my touring/gravel bike and had no issues getting up some pretty big hills loaded up, I think i had a 40 - 11/36, but you can always go bigger on the back/smaller on the front. Set up with a bar end microshifter and never had any issues.
I eventually changed to a 2x not for the uphill, but to be able to send it back downhill faster and with a bar end shifter it was honestly the easiest thing I've ever set up.
In other words both can easily work but by the sounds of it you've pretty much already been riding 1x and seem set to go that route, so unless you want to hoof it downhill go with that... you can also always eventually change it

If you're not sure about selling it and don't have the immediate need for cash then you can always hold on to it, I'd be surprised if Cannondale track frames start loosing value.
If you're going to sell it I'd also say sell it for what it's currently worth, regardless of if that's through the forum or elsewhere.
Alternatively you could also auction it off, work out how much you spent on it and start the bidding around that value, then it's out of your hands. Worse case you get what you put into it and someone gets a good deal, best case you get a whole lot for it and then it's up to you what that money is used for.

was just wondering if anyone had a Dura ace square taper crankset for sale, preferably in nice cosmetic condition as well, preferably 165 or 167.5mm. I've had a look in other places but haven't had much luck as they always seem a bit over priced or tend to come from abroad, which isn't ideal, especially with the current health situation. if you have any, or know of any for sale drop me a message or a comment. Based in Cardiff and I would pay postage if nessecary.
thanks
