Thanks for this, but I did try Google before hitting up the hive mind! That thread is quite out of date now, it looks like mapmyrun used to support Fitbit, but maybe not now. I couldn't get it to link using anything in that thread anyway!
I'll give the Fitbit app a chance and see how it goes. My running buddy is using mapmyrun so will be able to see how they directly compare.

I run to help with fitness three times a week. I'm not fast, but it's nice to see improvement and have been using mapmyrun and connected shoes to track my progress.
I've just bought a Fitbit Charge 5 to compliment that as I'm interested in getting a bit of heart rate info and curious about the sleep tracking side of things.
Before I got the charge 5 I was under the impression it would link up to mapmyrun, but it looks like the two don't play together.
I've been happy with mapmyrun for ages, but I suppose what I'd like to know is what more experienced runners recommend I use going forwards? Is Fitbit run tracking good anyway? Any reason I should stick with mapmyrun as all my history is on it?

Parking up for a couple of nights in a multistorey in Liverpool. Reviews of all car parks in the area indicate there's a good chance of having my window put in for a little ransacking fun.
Obviously I'll take everything out of it and try and find something fancy to park next to, but will it do any good to open the glove box and remove the parcel shelf before I leave it? Any tips for not having your car broken into?

I think I got whiplash from a fall down the stairs once. Didn't seem too bad at the time of the fall, but when I woke up in the morning I actually couldn't move my head or neck at all - really freaked me out! Unfortunately that's the main thing remember, I couldn't tell you how long it took to recover.

There are certainly different faces for sale on Ali express https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005004167122057.html
Not sure if they just stick over the top or are proper replacements though.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Consider me now scared, but too incompetent to do much about it! I will now just assume my tele, speakers, clock, phones and tablets have me under constant surveillance.
My WiFi performance actually seems better coming from the virgin hub 5 than the fancy Netgear router, so it won't be used again.

Not sure if this is the right place, but layman's terms advice appreciated, I'm no techie.
Work was hit by a cyber attack over the weekend and comms have been lacking any real detail. Various systems affected, but email still working and we've not been informed of anything we shouldn't try to access. My work laptop has had new antivirus added to it, but shows no obvious changed behaviour apart from being slow.
Worked from home today using my home WiFi, which is a virgin home hub in modem mode linked to a rax 40 router which is now a few years old.
After a few hours work this morning using the company surface I lost internet which I thought was just a short supplier outage, but after a few checks it seems my router just won't play ball at all. The weirdest bit being that the WiFi networks for each band had changed name. From netgear72 to netgear53, so nothing in the house would connect up. I tried everything from power cycles to full factory reset, but I just couldn't access the router via the app again.
Ultimately I've removed the router and returned the virgin hub to router mode and then gone through hours of reconnecting everything in the house.
Any chance of a link with the work attack here? Or is it just coincidence?

We have an 11 plate Polo with a DSG box and a Daihatsu Sirion.
The box in the Polo being 7 speed makes it great for longer distances, but I'm not a huge fan of the car overall. The engine sounds anything but smooth, but goes ok. I actually thought it was a diesel when I first heard it idle. The passenger side door handle needs frequent DIY repair, the electric window switch is loose and it feels small inside (I'm 5'9"). On the plus side, despite being an 11 plate it looks brand new underneath and feels like a very solid car to drive.
Most people laugh at the Sirion, but I've become very attached. It's a 1.3 sx with a factory bodykit with big fog lights. Bought in 2015 with 60,000 miles for £2k, it's now chasing 100,000 and only really needed basic servicing in that time. It's a Toyota engine and makes the Polo lump feel very agricultural. It's light on tyres, turns on a sixpence, has no dramas in snow on cross climate tyres, and is very comfortable inside - high roof and lots of leg room front and back. The boot is small though.
Both cars do the job, but I wouldn't be upset if I lost the Polo. We'll probably have a funeral when the Sirion dies.

I dropped the cooker hood again this morning, pulled all the restrictive PVC flexible ducting hose from the roof void and had a look up there with using my phone. The now measured 100mm hole in the ceiling wasn't big enough to do much else!
The resulting video does show me a small void area with a generally free run to the fascia. Only a couple of long screws that must have been too much effort for someone to do anything with in the way of a potential duct run. Once I drill larger 150mm holes in the ceiling and fascia I should be able to cut them down.
It looks like an easy job, that would have been even easier at the time, as I'll need to remove the guttering for access to drill the fascia.
I've fitted a temporary 150mm aluminium flexi hose to the extractor for now and just left it running as it was before - blasting back out into the kitchen. I still need to pick up the hole saw from Screwfix before I can continue and got other things to do today.
I also downloaded a dB app to measure the difference with the right size duct hose fitted and the old restrictive set up. 72dB before and 55dB after!

Found a pic of the flat roof construction. The far end is where the cooker hood is now installed.
If it stayed like this and no additional framework was installed it looks like I may have a clear run to the fascia?
I've no knowledge on roof construction, will it simply be the plastic external fascia board and then access into the void?
Thanks. Before I pulled the trigger on the Fitbit I was thinking of just adding a Polar Verity Sense to my set up to get HR data, but I thought the Fitbit was a more versatile option. Maybe this was a mistake.
I was also looking for something that could be worn on areas other than the wrist, so most of the watch type items were out for me
