This. Solid. https://www.merlincycles.com/garmin-varia-seat-post-quarter-turn-mount-103545.html
There's also a KOM cycling one with BOA dials but it's an overkill (and 3x the price) for a round seatpost.

Been having some pain/sorenesss in the lateral upper knee area (behind/above) possibly on the IT band, due to pushing myself on a 'lumpy' ride few (erm, 5?) weeks ago. Will probably need exercise to strengthten it and my power is also a joke nowadays due to becoming a chair/sofa potato. In order to not wait for weeks for the GP, I finally decided to use the Bupa thing we've been trying out (but never used) this year. Surprise, it's a joke as they require forms to be filled by the GP, to prove it's not an old injury. Will remember this when it's time to renew few months later.

Anybody having multi-monitor woes, specifically apps being opened going into an unused (connected, but turned off or not in correct input) display, or not remembering their correct display designations (but they're correctly designated in the dock right-click) and how do I fix it?
Currently I do a dock right click "Assign to display 2" "Assign to display 1" dance and they come back, with bad coordinates and I then have to adjust the window position again.

Have one, if you're going to put it in a draugty place (ie. my garage) consider getting the P1S which includes an enclosure (or you could use the cardboard box it came in upside down, in a pinch) would yield to better prints when printing things with a larger footprint. The price difference is £20 cheaper than buying/printing your own afterwards (about £110 + waiting for plexi panels from China) and looks much nicer.
There's also the Creality K1 (and K1 Max) which looks the same, probably functions the same (if not better?) as well. It's been exactly a year since I got my P1P, wasn't an option back then.

upgrading rads won't be cheap itself - we have what, 10 across the house, and they're all big
The quote includes rad swaps and the rads itself. For me upgrading 10 of the 14 rads the quote was ~£3,200. There were extra costs though, another asbestos test (~£100), a structural survey (~£200, which yielded bad results), planning permission (~£270) and I still need to get a chimney blocked. So it will add up to £4000 if we go ahead (still waiting more info from Octo guys, as they want to see what really they can do to make it right about that bad structual survey, before me cancelling the install. I don't want to involve another trade to fix that but I'm happy to pay Octo to get it fixed, assuming it would be at a reasonable cost)
In comparison to that, a new boiler install quote came at £4,500 (including a gas-pipe upgrade) very straightforward, no headaches. But is it really what to go for in 2024? (I'm now waiting to see if it's possible to go with the ASHP install...)
BTW recently tried BritishGas for the HP and the auto-quote (subject to survey) came in at £10k after the grant. Needless to say I didn't book the survey.
If I can afford the HP I will go with that, if not, the old creaky boiler remains for now until I'm fed up with the vented tank.

About £520 in so far (PP fee, structural eng + extra asbestos report) but in the meantime I should line up another combi survey -- BG came in about £4k but can't reuse my beloved tado.
Got new quotes for few 35kw combi options, looks like the scales are tipping that way (cheapest is a Glow-worm). The plumber/installer (which seems nice and capable) also clocked the gas pipe needing an upgrade (straightforward run) which is something the BG video survey unsuprisingly missed. Will need an updated Tado EU/eBus receiver that I'll need to sort out in the meantime.
On topic: I'll quickly contact Octo sometime next week to cancel, also try my chances getting that £270 I paid for the PP (which hasn't progressed at all) back.

Draft coming behind our bathroom cabinets (low, around the sink) I think it's time to address them.
Do I just get some wool/fibre and shove it into the space between the cabinet's back board and the wall? If so, which product should I get, e.g. what will go in easily (pushing in with a coat hanger, presumably?) without the need to take the whole counter off? -
I'm in absolute wonder at my printer. At what point does the novelty wear off?
Recently printed a replacement leg for the (artificial) xmas tree I promptly broke off moving it inside from the garage. My brother was visiting from NL (in fact he took the time to model the leg in SketchUp, I was too hesitant/lazy) and after few successful test fits and a full print the next morning, he's ordered one (P1s)

Get a case for the remote: https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2021/01/favorite-zwift-apple-tv-accessory.html (there are other options, mine has little ball-bumps at the back)
Use "Pair through phone" functionality if the limited number of Bluetooth channels are not enoughI now use it exclusively on the Apple TV, in fact purchased a separate ATV just for this, leaves the computer open for other stuff such as Netflix or Youtube or GCN+ (sigh)

Octopus ASHP woes continued
Apparently a structural engineer report/survey is needed to install the unvented cylinder (200L capacity + 50kg) in the airing cupboard, which currently has a 140 litre vented one
Got this assessed (after the first visit I had to remove a board and cut off some plasterboard to gain access and the guy dropped by the next day again) and looks like the cupboard needs strengthtening before any more load can be put in. It's hard to do with the current tank in-situ (the eng described how it should be done in the report, but also added it might not be practical due how confined the space is) so I'll ask if Octopus can do it after draining the system and taking the old tank off, first day of the install. Essentially rebuilding it with much better access.
About £520 in so far (PP fee, structural eng + extra asbestos report) but in the meantime I should line up another combi survey -- BG came in about £4k but can't reuse my beloved tado.

Somebody reversed their wankpanzer into our boot in the school car park. The alarm went off for what felt like an hour, then I noticed it's our EVwanker car and I stopped it from my phone. As seen in the rear dashcam footage, they didn't even get out to check the damage, and they didn't need to reverse at all to be able to exit their spot. I don't want to be more cunty than necessary but surely this needs a special kind of treatment?
Damage wise, it's just a dimple in the boot lid on a single place on the left. But it's a lease car on my ltd so I can't just take it to a random bodyshop and hope for the best, especially since the car is less than 3 months old. This morning I drove to school but couldn't see the driver (we know the kid by passing, no idea about the parents) and didn't get an email/phone from the school or him so I started the claim process on Admiral, didn't want to be too late for it. Didn't file a police report (yet) but I might tonight (wondering if I'll have their details by tonight then it will be easier) any recommendations on how to proceed?

I have the solar, got it mainly because 64gb looks more useful/future-proof than 32gb which the non-solar has. Upgraded when it first came out from 1030plus because I suffer upgraditivitis. In fact I don't even have the free time to ride that much any more.
There are still a few bugs (sensors not connecting until reboot kind, which could be fixed by now) so don't expect a rock solid unit like the 1030 plus. But the new features look nice (link goes to DCR review)

Screwfix one doesn't have the stand maybe? Amazon one doesn't list it in "Included Components" but it's in the title - it says "incl. Stand".
Other than that, comparing the two "included components" lists there's no practical difference. ("Fixings" in one is probably the "wall mounting screws, wall plugs, sticky pads, wiring labels" in the other)

Better at not puncturing. I'm not going to get Marathons or > 30mm on this bike. (wouldn't pay more than £60, so just slightly expensive than other more puncture prone and/or fast wearing alternatives) #moretyrethread

I don't think there's anything better in the road tubeless space, tried others for too long. The conditions weren't great with the flood water and (sometimes literal) shit it brings, it was just lack of luck. #offtopic
Rephrased and shortened multiple times to stay on topic.

Looking for a cheapo access point or wifi router that will do surfshark/nordvpn. I normally use nice stuff but this is for a friend, who wants to violate Netflix' terms (separate SSID/device from their home wifi, for the TV). Fired up my 6 year old Archer C7 to check but apparently (latest firmware being from 2018) it doesn't do such things. OpenWRT isn't an option as I don't want to deal with IT support afterwards.
