Alright, I've been asked for a hill, here is my hill: https://www.strava.com/segments/23800172. Freshly baked segment from this morning. I tried a couple of different routes to the summit and hope I've found a good balance of difficulty, secluded roads, and steepness. 76m of elevation, avg grade 6% with a few steep parts up to 15-18%.
The segment is made of two sections, first on the road (King's Head Rd, a little busy, then Pole Hill Rd, the beefy part, very secluded), easily doable with a hardcore fixie; THEN, you don't step down, and keep going: there's a nice trail with a bit more difficulty but not that much. I tried with a 50x17 and it was too much for the end of the trail, I had to walk the last meters. 46x18 should typically be a breeze to the summit.
Although I'm not the RuleMaster @Lucybee, I'd suggest we select the winner with the highest gear up to the Obelisk, and if no one does it without putting a foot down, we restrict up to the end of Pole Hill Rd?
P.S. You'll find beautiful views up there and on the neighboring hills, go during the day.

Gave it a go this afternoon after a week without cycling. Arrived at the beginning of the hill sandwiched between a bus and a weekend Audi 2000ExtraSuperSpeeder™ with his modified roaring engine. Yikes. Hard hard hard. Almost tipped over, was gonna stop until I realised I've just started using clipless pedals. I CAN PUSH AND PULL. ✨ Then it was a breeze until the summit. Soz no photo from the summit, I was rushing to go grocery shopping afterwards.
52x13 on 650c wheels, a solid 97.17". Yay.

Jumping in the thread as I like black rims, spokes, or hubs.
@sketch, @Justin_Case how much are your selling your wheelsets?
Edit: Dibs to @Turkish of course. -
@Bonj0ur looks like you got a nice auction on eBay (a bit under £1300 but hopefully not much for ya?), still over my budget unfortunately. Maybe mark it as sold here?

Alright, I was a bit tired today so I went with my road bike. Yes whip me. I left my house and this guy and his fancy electric bike passed me super fast, so I had to go at 50kmh (apparently I can do that) to pass him again (he was not even pedaling grrr). Then I was even more tired.
The hill! Amazing, steep, steep! 36x14 on my cute shiny 650c bike, so an easy 62" gear index (team 650c @Lucybee! These are the best). I went a bit randomly south, got lost, and discovered a few really nice routes and places. https://www.strava.com/activities/3358022280/
Well done @Josh01 for the KOM!

Heya, I've built a quick prototype to automatically add the cadence to your Strava activities, from your wheel circumference, and front/rear nb of teeth. Still a bit of room for improvement to smooth out the instant speed, but it seems to work well!
So far I just have a quick and dirty Python script running locally, but if people are interested, I could post it on Github and run it on my website. Any interest?

Heya, I'm joining the hill climbing gang a bit late, so I thought I would compensate by doing Weeks 1 and 2 together today… 💤I didn't expect Greenwich tunnel to be closed, and the first hill destroyed my right knee. I arrived back home very tired with 1% battery left, yay!
https://www.strava.com/activities/3317378741; attached a pic of my mighty steel beast in a very reasonable 46x17.

I've installed a new Izumi green chain on my fixed less than a week ago. I checked today and there are already lots of rusty patches on the rollers. I've been using SRAM chains in the past with a better success ( rust eventually but months after being installed on the bike)
I'm confused what I should do better, any clue? Thanks!

There's a long-distance race without assistance coming this summer, I thought people here might be interested. Organised by friends from the bike shop Kring in Brussels, from Brussels to France to Switzerland to Italy to the south of France; more info here: http://panache.cc/
Panache is a long distance rally without assistance. A perfect introduction to the world of ultra-cycling.
You will be able to compete in solo, or enjoy the ride as the team.
A race from Brussels to Nice to celebrate the Tour by making the junction between Brussels Grand Départ & Nice Grand Départ in 2020.
We think that the greatest homage possible to the tour is to going back to its roots, by remembering Henri Desgrange’s original race format. When, for example, on the first one in 1903, Maurice Garin has won the first étape after 17h and 45 minutes of a hard gravel riding and approximate navigation between Paris and Lyon, on a 20kg+ fixed gear bike. That was a wild time for cycling: let’s be wild again.
It will basically be a giant orientation race, but carrying lots of food on the bike. -

Interested in the Spinergy wheelset if @pazu is not!

Various pieces in general good condition, that I collected over the years and don't need anymore. Can meet in Walthamstow or anywhere central-ish on a nice sunny day.

Lightweight, good working condition. ✨Wanted to polish the crank arms but didn't find time. [£50…45…40]
Chainring Specialized 53t 10/11spd (like new) [£15…10]
One pair of lever housing (new) Y-SB03 for 10sp Microshift levers [£5]
two press-fit Bottom bracket Praxis M30 Cosmetic wear from internal cable routing on one, both have fine bearings. [£15…10]
Crankset Praxis Works Turn Zayante 52/36 175mm with bottom bracket M30, good condition. [£70]

[RESERVED] Shimano Ultegra Bottom Bracket SM-BBR60 (new, bought by mistake) [£10]
[SOLD] SRAM Force 22 caliper rim brake set (new in box) [£60]
[SOLD] Rear track wheel: H+Son Formation Face on BLB King hub, 36h Sapim spokes. BLB Black Mamba tyre in 25c. Saw the road for a few 100 kms max. One lockring thread is jammed (could be remachined I guess, otherwise will work with a freewheel), the other side is fine. The logos have been removed, it's a wheel not a advertisement. I will cleanup the rim and spokes and make sure the wheel is true (should be fine). [£90]

Thanks everyone, so many wheels! Thanks again @fizzy.bleach, let's see what I can do with it. :)
@allister, @broken_777 Yes, let me know, potentially interested! Was looking at Kinlin & Mavic but if I don't have to build one, that's even better.
@gintas_ce Which Shamal exactly?

My Velocity Aerohead rim is kaput, the joint has started to crack after ~15,000km of use. According to Velocity, this is normal. :/
BLB is asking me £125 for a new A23 rim in 28 holes, for $50 in the US. 😿
If anyone has something cheaper, I'm listening! Either a rim in 28 holes so that I can swap, or potentially a 650c rear wheel (for road, not track)? -
@Dogs @GreatSince78 Any pair of straps still available?

I have this Univega Modovolare 59/63cm (CrMo Columbus steel) to sell. However, it's currently stuck in Brussels so I won't be able to bring it back quickly. Selling without the fork.
