Cycling won't be shitcanned if we do our part in A. following the rulebook ourselves but more importantly B. holding our friends and peers accountable when/if they don't.
I gave a middle aged guy in rapha a bollocking in Regent's yesterday after he close passed me that I hope he won't forget in a hurry.
I don't have a turbo trainer and anything I can do to stave off the banning of cycling I'll do it.
Masks and gloves etc aren't necessary for anyone who isn't doing a high risk occupation. Keep your hands away from your face until you get home and then wash them. Or better yet get home, strip off, jump in the shower and wash yourself all over and then have a delightful 5 minutes picking your nose or whatever.

I usually get my hair done at the London School of Barbering but they don't have any bookings available until next Friday and I'm overdue a cut. All I want is a #1 all over, nothing fancy, so really don't want to be paying £12 or whatever for it.
Recommendations of where I could get this done for £5-6 would be gratefully received. I work in Wapping and live in Herne Hill but can get anywhere by bike more or less.
Before anyone suggests it, I'm not cutting it myself!

TRP spyre calipers and shifter set both sold - everything else still available. The derailleurs in particular deserve a good home, they're gooduns. If I'm honest I'm enjoying the hydraulic brakes and it is nice to have 11 speed but the difference between 105 and tiagra is pretty small ball.
I thought I'd sold the chainset but turns out the prospective buyer doesn't need it (managed to get a bike shop to un-seize a stuck pedal in the end...).

I'm trying to update https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/342533 to signify that some items (shifters and calipers) are now sold. Seems that I can't edit the content in the thread or make new posts - is this deliberate or an error?

Sorry can't accept dibs, just needs to go to whoever sends over the moolah on Paypal first.
The rattle, well basically when you're riding on the hoods as normal with the fingers on the levers it's quiet as mice. However when you're on the tops and go over e.g. a cattle grid, there is a small buzz/rattle. My new hydraulic levers actually make the same noise in the same circumstances, I think it is the material of the lever vibrating inside the shifter. Seems to be quite common in shimano shifters https://road.cc/content/forum/259267-shimano-105-7020-shifter-rattle . I can try to make a video of it tonight, though the shifters are no longer on a handlebar.

New item: older yellow Look Keo pedals for £6 plus post. Also mentioned that there are some freebies which are sweeteners for any purchases. One purchase, one freebie. I need to do a proper inventory but items will include flat-bar brake levers, seatposts (27.2 alloy probably), maybe bottle cages and other gubbins.
I am in talks with someone about the tiagra components but obviously it's first come first served. The sunrace cassette is gone to a happy customer.

How about a pair of 30mm 700c Schwalbe Spicers? Pair's yours for £15. I work in Wapping but could do a drop off tomorrow lunchtime, express delivery! Or after working hours, whichever. They came with my Kona but I never used them as they weren't tubeless ready. I'll take them to work tomorrow in the bag so if you make a decision in the morning pop me a DM.

Hey mate I might be keen for the merino wool mix size L jersey. Will swap for any bits in my own clearout thread in exchange https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/342533/#comment15056410 can you pop me a photo of it?

Pics: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dreYpEG4jO_jJ8I9kz2OguOU8u-Xxk2S
Condition: in various states. These are all components removed from my beloved Kona Wheelhouse which I like so much I've paid to upgrade it to 105 and hydros ( http://2018.konaworld.com/wheelhouse.cfm ) so you can check its spec sheet for details.
I think the big chainring is worn (d'oh) so I'm minded to include the chainset (cranks plus chainrings etc) for free as a sweetener if you buy some of my other gubbins. The chainset has about 9,000 km on it as does the FD, but the rear derailleur and left brifter have less than 2k. The front brifter makes a small rattle if you're going over cobbles with your hands off the hoods but it functions fine. Could probably be fixed by someone who knows what they're doing with electrical tape or whatever.
Tiagra 4700 172.5mm crankset/chainset - see above. £15 if you buy it on its own, free if you buy both derailleurs.
Rear derailleur (long cage; I used it with a 11-32t cassette): SOLD https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_from=R40&_nkw=tiagra+4700+rear+derailleur&_sacat=7294&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=4 it seems that 4700 used RDs go for about £15 factoring in postage.
Shifter sets SOLD
Some other gubbins I have lying around that deserve a new home are:
Sunrace 10-speed 11-40 cassette SOLD
Alexrims Boondocks 5 rear wheel which you can have for £20 (based on https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_osacat=7294&_odkw=schwalbe+spicer&LH_ItemCondition=4&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.Xalexrims+rear+wheel+boondocks+5.TRS0&_nkw=alexrims+rear+wheel+boondocks+5&_sacat=7294) No rotors or axles - the axles are on the upgraded bike and the rotors went in the bin owing to being out of true.
Schwalbe spicer tyres 700cx30 (scarcely used) which you can have for £5 each (based on https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_from=R40&_nkw=schwalbe+spicer&_sacat=7294&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=4 )
TRP Spyre calipers (flat mount). SOLD You can have the pair for £20 as the front one's barrel adjustor thing is broken (see pics). It actually arrived that way as the brainboxes at Chain Reaction obviously didn't have the finest minds on the tools that afternoon, but I never bothered to warranty it as they're perfectly usable when configured with just an allen key and some pliers - the actual pad adjustment (the important bit) is done with a 3 mil. Normally they go for £40 a set or so ( https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_osacat=7294&_odkw=alexrims+rear+wheel+boondocks+5&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313.TR4.TRC0.A0.H0.Xtrp+spyre+calipe.TRS0&_nkw=trp+spyre+caliper&_sacat=7294 ) You'll want to put new pads in these.
'Kona' saddle
Came with the Wheelhouse - I swapped it for a Charge Spoon I got from a LFGSSer. Chromo rails. It's fine and I did big rides on it including Paris-Roubaix but now it's just taking up space. Yours for £3.
Old TDF-yellow Look Keo pedals
Old, bit heavy (396g a pair), but working very well indeed. Might be a good look on your bike as they're in a striking TDF yellow paint scheme. No longer needed as I just use SPD for everything these days. Bargain price of £6 plus post.
Can do deals for multi-buys. I work in Wapping and I'm super busy in the mornings next week, but can meet for exchange anywhere between Wapping and Herne Hill Thursday-Friday next week. Or I can just post.
Freebies I can include if you buy something (one freebie per item):
27.2 alloy seatpost (black)
Couple of 18-25/28 patched inner tubes (they work fine I just don't need so many knocking about the cupboards).
will update tonight once I've done a proper rummage, I'm sure there is more.

I would really love to buy cranks that use something else but a square tapper bb (unless they are used cheap ones). I wasn't really specific about that, sorry.
Ah OK - I think Spa or SJS might be the best suppliers, they're specialists in touring cycles and such. It may be worth giving Spa a ring or popping them an email. They're very well regarded among audaxers etc. Good luck with finding your crank lengths.
-
Don't suppose I can tempt you with a full 10-speed Tiagra 4700 chainset? 50-34, The big chainring is worn but I think the inner is alright. Cranks are 172.5mm. It's just taking up space about the house so it's yours for a song. They're gubbins from my good bike after I paid to upgrade to 105 hydraulics (I was using tiagra with TRP spyres). I can suss some photos tonight.
You're welcome to the FD and RD too. The right shifter makes a small rattle if you are riding on the hoods on a bumpy road but it never bothered me. Left shifter is as good as new as I warrantied it not 3 months ago.
-
Not that often - it's mostly that I'm gearing up for http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/20-589/ in the summer and my worst nightmare is getting a pinch flat off some giant crater in a raggedy road up in the hills at 2330. I've used marathons before they're good tyres, I'm sure you'll find a buyer.
-
Spa can do you some 160mm ones, for square taper BBs e.g. https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s109p45/STRONGLIGHT-Impact-Double and 130-155mm https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s109p1927/STRONGLIGHT-Impact-Kid

Hi, I'm on the market for a pair of 28mm tubeless ready road tyres. I am fine with tyres that have been used a bit so long as they aren't that badly worn, small nicks etc. What've you got knocking about? Looking for the likes of Maxxis Padrone, 28mm is crucial as I want comfort but also to be able to fit mudguards.

We never had 'pure capitalism' in this country; certainly it is indeed 'capitalism for the many' such as disabled people who are subjected to humiliating and degrading 'fitness to work tests', etc but we have always had the government going out of their way to intervene on behalf of or bail out specific 'friends' e.g.:
So for me the real question is to what extent the system will be shaken up.
The antonym of 'capitalism' is not necessarily 'socialism'. During my last degree I spent a lot of time studying the Republic of Korea. In the 1950s Korea was a destitute agrarian country in which the majority of people scraped a living farming dirt in squalid living conditions with no industry. By 2020 it is a world leader in electronics, shipwrighting and much else. This happened within a capitalist system but with a heavy handed, indeed draconian, government run by military generals. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_on_the_Han_River
Basically the generals oversaw what we would broadly term a capitalist system but with strong-arm regulation from the central government. If the corporates didn't live up to their promises of 'creating development', they would be for it.
This is not to praise Park at all. His regime was uncompromisingly brutal, neglectful to the country's worst-off, and the legacy continues in Korea having some of the worst health and safety performance in the "developed world".
My expectation is that you won't see Tories nationalising the means of production and exchange. But they might take a leaf out of Park's book. To be honest they pioneered protectionist interventions in the economy long before karl marx https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_Laws
