@amey I think this one https://audax.uk/event-details?eventId=8618 will be good to do fixed or SS if you want to give it a go! On 16 January though which I understand is the same day as a LFGSS ride.
I am weighing up doing this one fixed too. There's a lot to be said for doing it fixed, really incentivises me to get a move on instead of plodding.

I did my first fixed gear audax on Saturday. I rode alone, and bumped into someone at the start riding single speed.
I am really, really feeling it in my legs even today but still pretty chuffed with myself.
Event details at https://sites.google.com/site/thamesvalleyaudax/events-in-the-thames-valley-area/south-bucks-ctc-events/WW2020%20R2RiderDoc.gpx?attredirects=0&d=1On the whole this was a good ride to do fixed.

Satnavs route drivers to 'available roadspace' - by 'widening' roads, instead of creating 'breathing space' for what traffic is already there, waze and google maps direct more motors in to fill what gaps were made. So people who would otherwise be using the A road (Cromwell Road or Holland Park Ave/Bayswater, or the Westway, are directed by their phones to use Kensington High St instead.
All predictable, all avoidable.

I've recently become a flat pedals convert for freewheel riding but I'm hopefully returning to riding fixed soon and really want more sure foot retention. I'm interested in these designs of those velcro straps that seem to be the rage these days but the Restrap ones are £30. The fixed bike will be for leaving around outside houses and whatnot and I'd sooner not have gucci accessories hanging off a bike like it.
Has anyone had good experiences with ones like these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2PCS-Cycling-Bicycle-Bike-Foot-Pedal-Straps-Anti-slip-Toe-Clips-Pedal-Strap-UK/363094304870?hash=item548a1b6866:g:p1IAAOSw31pfUMso off ebay? They look like they'd do the job. I like the idea of diagonal ones but they seem to be a bit dearer.
edit: just got some straps. Thanks everyone

I optimistically bought an actual track bike last year, and sold off my fixed gear town bike. Since I think my racing career is now on permanent hiatus I sold the track frame, and now looking for a steel frame and forks w/headset to put my fixed gear bits on.
Basically something similar in appearance to a condor tempo or surly cross check.
AHEAD steerer tube strongly strongly preferred because that's what'll be compatible with my current cockpit.
Horizontal dropouts needed to make using mudguards possible. I'm 5'11 so frames and forks with that sizing in mind are what's needed.
Not looking to spend a fortune but could go to around £200 for the right spec. I'm specifically looking for something that I would feel comfortable locking up outside for lengths of time.
Needs to be drilled for a front brake because I don't have sick skid skillz
Seeking wide tyre clearances, so I can use c. 32mm tyres with mudguards
I'm on hols away for next week but keen to see what's on the market. PM's also welcome 👍 based in se21 when I'm not roaming around elsewhere.

Good pump but I now use much lower pressures so this pump is overkill. It can comfortably (yes really) inflate up to 110 psi and probably higher. You can probably live with just this pump if space is limited. I got it for touring and audaxing where it happily pumped loaded touring bike wheels up to 80-90 psi very well indeed.
Scuffs on the pressure gauge and the internal o ring on the downstroke-thing needs replacing (just go to a hardware shop and find one that looks the right size).

Oh and I'll chuck in this compatible stem since I don't think anyone elsell want it. I lost the shim to make it compatible with thin steerer tubes though so it only goes on 1 and 1/8 STs. 120mm https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/ST3TTHESTEM/3ttt-the-stem

Lovely bars but not compatible with the current whip(s) stem so they have to go.
Bought them off PX for £20 plus delivery https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HBNIRB002/nitto-rb-002-bull-horn-handlebarThese are already handlebar taped and with a compatible 26.0 lever for the brake I'm sure you use. Purchased new last march so perfect condition.
They'll cost a stupid amount of cash to post because of the dimensions and I don't want to be queueing up in shops to put my life on the line for postage so collection only from SE21 not far from West Dulwich and Herne Hill station.
Pics attached. Yes the handlebar tape doesn't match, adds motivation to go faster so no one notices.
Price dropped to £7.

It was really good last year. I met a very handsome pony.
