Looking at the chains interaction with the 46, the fact that it drops comes as no surprise.

But since dinner plates are common on mtbs I was curious if this is what one always would expect from a setup like this.

I went with the 46t cassettr. And it’s finally put together. Cant seem to get the gearing working correctly though.

It drops the chain while backpedaling on the 46t.

I measured chainline to 48mm and since then moved the front ring inside the spider.

Any suggestions how to get it working flawlessly?

It looks like you need the front squish. And sadly I dont own a hardtail. But thats not the only thing between me and doing it.
