Doing a build at the moment (old Dolan) & looking for a complete cable set, previously I’ve picked up jagwire kits (probably 4/5 years ago in fairness) at £30-£40 which were great, although now it’s either brake or gear at twice the price.

Apart from getting separate parts, is there a way to pick up a complete kit for normal money nowadays? Feel like a complaining old tw*t here but I’m sure someone knows better!!

7800 evidence

After looking for a 9 speed dura ace TT chainring for some time, I just managed to get one on eBay for a normal price, 54t, showing some signs of wear for £30.

Does anyone have any experience in fitting one of these rings to a 7400 8 speed chainset? I understand they fit the 7800 10 speed setup as well.

Any tips appreciated

The frame does have some marks close up, but it’s been given some TLC / wax so looks quite tidy 😎

Selling of my retro road bike collection there’s four bikes , campag super record rear mechanism, campag super record chainset polished,couple of sets of wheels with new tyres vittora rally tyres on the colnago ,handle bars with cinelli stem and shimano brake levers ,Shimano pedals ,shimano chainset ,3ttt stem still in box ,Argos frame and fork to much to to post collection only £2350

Cash on collection or bank transfer The bikes are colnago c40 art decor fantastic condition , Claudio Chiappucci carrera team bike with fulcrum race 1 wheels in mint condition could be a show bike it’s that good , look team bike really nice and not many left , ribble bike built by Terry Dolan all bikes are 55cm or56cm check out the chainset on the colnago not many of them about .

£2350 this is a nice collection of road bike and parts all in great condition this is a bargain price reluctant sale . Bad hip forcing sale probably left some parts out what ever is here goes .

Mild weather so went out on the Scott. Felt great after the winter hack!!

Need to get the 10sp cassette on the Superteam wheels, currently 11sp..

I use those PX calipers on a couple of builds - once set up they work well, and super light being the CNC version not the forged 👍

Came about when looking what tyres sized 23c were available in tan wall, and there wasn’t must about. Turns out 25c in some brands are smaller.

Note Vittoria 700 x 23c, other 25c

It was more the tyre model / carcass size and actual dimensions on specific rim size I was referring to, rather that ETRTO

Wanted to add some info to help others when looking to change wheels / tyres onto older bikes, I had a bit of hassle getting the right combination to fit into a mark one Cervelo S5. With ‘new’ wider rims it opens up the options somewhat, but spent ages digging on the web to find the information!!

Popped on the scales… 7.105kg isn’t bad considering the wheels are sub £300 Superteam 50mm. Even a bit of clearance with 25’s on!

Keep looking at modern stuff with discs but for the ££/weight/my ability it seems a waste, and old kit is 🤩

Trying a set of wheels from another build, looking forward to seeing how it feels next spring 😎
