I'm looking at picking up a Genesis Datum frameset, but I'm not sure about a couple of things and would love some advice (I'm a roadie and this will be my first gravel/disk brake bike)
Is there any downside to the 15mm thru axle fork or the QR rear axle frame? The standard seems to now be 12mm thru axle front and rear. I'm planning on building up the bike with some Hunt gravel wheels which come with adaptors. I'd probably just swap tyres for road/gravel excursions (i.e. 32mm Pirellis on road and 35mm Gravel kings for off road)
Also, I was keen on a threaded bottom bracket at first, but this frame comes with a BB86 press fit bottom bracket. I'm a bit scarred from my Trek Madone BB90 issues - is a threaded bottom bracket really any better or is the BB86 system ok for British weather?
