Maybe we need a new thread but I sat next to two little shits in the pub tonight who had a lot of money spent on their education but completely embarrassed themselves with zero understanding of today's society.
Private school gives people this unfounded confidence but is an inefficient use of money.
My new idea is to ban private schools, tax all parent per child they have and put it all towards education.

I've been playing around with this - https://www.superlecdirect.com/p-fstwifi-timeguard-timeguard-wifi-controlled-fused-spur-fstwifi?gclid=CjwKCAjw7fuJBhBdEiwA2lLMYekSorhHHtynuEsdcZZTrNQldKMFpAdZrnpOIEGZXUe5pACGfwEc4BoCtn4QAvD_BwE
App is a bit clunky but works. I'd recommend finding an expert to advise and install.

Im pro this tax rise, not smart enough to know if it should be income tax or NI.
I detest regressive test that push the burden on everyone but also top line income tax that decreases total tax revenue and therefore everything.
What's the centre line alternative?
My current position is Starmer wins the next GE, even before the tax stuff.

“I am actually really pleased this has all come to a head – the big retailers and, by default, the big haulage firms and logistics companies have had it far too easy for far too long when it comes to transport costs,” the haulier told The Loadstar.
“There is a global driver shortage because of poor treatment, and it’s all becoming apparent. There are exceptions, Amazon, Hermes, Waitrose and Warburton are good payers.”
The haulier said the match that “blew open” the lid on the lack of European drivers was lit by an EU law change preventing the weekly 45-hour rest requirement being taken in cabs, and imposing a “return-to-base” rule, requiring drivers to return home every four weeks.
Prior to this, he said, some drivers would accept reduced hourly rates in exchange for unlimited hours, but the new rule meant poor rates and treatment “was no longer worth it”.
Doesn't sound like just a UK issue.

Sorry should have uploaded a photo instead of trying to explain badly.
So image is the bottom fused switch. I'm trying to replace it with a wifi/timer switch.
The ends of the cable are too thick tofot exactly in new timer and replicate the images circuit. Even trying to fit them in a wago 221 connector is a struggle.
Trimming the wires to fit feels like a bodge what's the correct way?

So electrics are a hot topic atm so I thought I'd try to squeeze my own question in.
Had a new immersion tank installed and full rewire. Forgot to ask them to install a wifi fuse/timer. (so have a 2 standard fused spurs on own circuit)
Tried to do a temporary install myself but the wire gauge makes it impossible to fit the new timer fuse and then relay the next spur.
Next step junction box? How can someone step down gauges over very short distances then connect the smaller gauge timer boxes?
many many thanks

Why has JIT broken down? Brexit. and maybe...
- post covid demand spike (eg raw building materials; wood, steel concrete )
- long term declining HGV job numbers (job conditions, ageing workforce)
- lack of new drivers due to covid stopping testing
- tax reform (HMRC)
- global transport issues (container rates & movement)
- global manufacturing issues (semiconductors, PPE, vaccines)
Moving away from JIT is the future. It will need a the modern day consumer to become less of a buyer/capitalist and accept that 4 types of tomatoes on the shelf and non next day delivery on tat from a sweat shop is OK.

I would say the hard left proudly self identify.
It's a huge issue with party politics. We all fall on a spectrum of left/right/center on a wide range of issues. Sometimes on conflicting issues.
How can any one leader or MP really represent you? I'd much rather vote for the local person who has real life experience, understands compromise and the greater good (the greater good).
Life is nuanced, so should our ability to vote.
