On this day cyclist will reclaim the streets from Hyde Park to Heathrow in a critical mass ride of epic proportions to invite Boris Johnson and John McDonnell to fulfil their pledges and meet us at Heathrow to lie down in front of our giant inflatable bulldozer. Johnson's empty words are an example of the hypocrisy and greenwashing evident from all political parties - that is why we declare ourselves in rebellion against the political system which has let us to the six mass-extinction and the climate crisis.
We declare ourselves in rebellion against the rules of the road that put car users before vulnerable cyclists - we are all vulnerable, vulnerable to food shortages, vulnerable to water shortages, to power outages and vulnerable to the climate and ecological breakdown.
Our critical mass will cause disruption but just a token disruption to make real in a small way the catastrophe that is sure to come if political will is not bent towards tackling this emergency.
Fly flags and play music and wave bulldozer banners to show that we do what we do with joy and hope that we can still make a difference - that we can still change course to brighter future.

Hyde Park Corner (centre of roundabout): meet 10.00 for prompt 10,30 departure.
- Intermediate pick-up points (prompt departure times):
11.00 Earls Court (junction of Cromwell Road and Warwick Road).
11.30 Hammersmith (outside Hammersmith Apollo theatre).
12.00 Gunnersbury (under Brentford flyover, opposite Esso garage).
- End of ride: 'Bulldozer lie-in' and rally:
1.00 for 1.30 Northern end of tunnel to Terminals 2 and 3, next to large model Airbus in middle of roundabout.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT TO 'BULLDOZER LIE-IN' AND RALLY
- From Central London:
Travel to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 via TfL Rail or Heathrow Express (from London Paddington) or via Piccadilly Line. Then take buses 105, 111, 140 or 285 or U3 from Heathrow Central Bus Station, through the tunnel under the runway, getting off at the first bus stop (Newport Road). You'll pass the model Airbus as you leave the tunnel. Walk back to it.
Local buses:
- Buses 81 (from Slough or Hounslow), 105 (from Greenford or Southall), 111 (from Kingston, Hampton or Hounslow), 140 (from Harrow or Hayes & Harlington), 222 (from Uxbridge, West Drayton or Hounslow), 285 (from Kingston, Hampton, Feltham or Hatton Cross) and 423 (from Hounslow or Hatton Cross) all stop on the A4 Bath Road, near the junction with Nene Road (between the Renaissance and Heathrow Ibis Styles hotels). Walk along A4 Bath Road to the Nene Road junction (the nearest traffic lights, next to a Texaco garage), turn left then immediately right (onto East Ramp). The model Airbus is in the middle of the roundabout in front of you.

Extinction Rebellion is planning to shut down Westminster for at least 2 weeks from 7th October. This will be similar to the April shutdown but with more sites and each site taking on a distinct theme (see third link). There are many ways to get involved, one of which is joining your local group. They exist all over the UK (and the world for that matter). No worries. I've run 35mm Gravelkings. Tech specs says up to 45mm (700c), assuming geo is the same which I'll check.
It has mounts at the bottom of the seat stay but not the top (next to the bridge - see 2nd pic), which seems to be different to the new model (which has both). No front mounts. -

I'm selling my Niner steel frame as I've replaced it with the carbon version. Great frame that feels really smooth to ride, perfect for longer bike-packing/gravel rides.
I've used this for one season of CX and some gravel riding so it has the odd mark here and there but otherwise in good condition. There is some scuffing on one of the stays.

I don't think it's that bad. 15£ a race if you enter online, and you can enter the whole series of 8 races for 90. Last night felt expensive due to one off 10£ for the number/chip. Seems reasonable given the amount of organisation and volunteer time needed.

Yes I have this exact issue aswell. There are a couple of degrees missing which happen to be the exact angle you need. I'm thinking of trying a bodge putting a thin layer of tape on the inside of one of the clamping points, to push it to the right angle, but if anyone has a better idea (barring just buying a new seat post) I'd be very grateful!

Immensely impressed by what XR has managed to achieve in such a short space of time. As a small case in point compare for example the number of comments/views here compared to the older "Climate Change" thread! No doubt in terms of more widespread public support/engagement there is still a long way to go, and conversations with friends have been dispiriting (just a bunch of hippies, get a job, etc etc). Ultimately once/if they start getting results it will become harder and harder to make such out of hand dismissals.
One point on the non-violence principle - for me this is one of their most important values. Go back or weaken this point and I and I think many others would be out the door.
In terms of influencing others, as XR refer to in their "no blame" principle, anything which smacks of being preachy or telling people what they should be doing emphatically does not work.
In general I find a kind of nudging approach works. For example, if friends/family ask if I want to go on a trip requiring a flight, I just say no I'm not flying to go on holiday any more. Its rare this gets a negative reaction, at worst it promotes a discussion of why not, and at best changes their behaviour, without having to go on a guilt trip.

Thought it was a great course with the mix of small/large banks and the fast descent. Regret I didnt have a go cycling up the big one! By the time I'd grown a pair was too knackered. BCC chap dislocated his shoulder unfortunately, season over for him.

Have got an RLT9 Steel. Use it for general off-road and CX and it has been great. No issues with the press fit (so far). But I agree its a big premium for what it is, mine was NOS and much less than the list price, plus its 62cm and there are not many similar frames in that size.
