£340
Posting for sale a 2015 Focus Mares AX in white with red and blue accents.
This bike was purchased from an advert on the forum 7 years ago, and has been in my possession since. I've ridden it a fair amount, and always had a lot of fun on it.
The components are mostly as they were when I bought it aside from having converted it back to 2x at the front (I still have the 1x conversion if you want it).
105 front and rear derailleur and shifters. 11-32 cassette.
FSA crankset
Focus Mares AX 2015
Juin Tech semi hydro brakes
Fizik Arione saddle
Hope Tech XC laced to Hope Pro2 Evo SP hubsThe bike definitely needs a service as I've not ridden it much in the last 4 years. I know for a fact that the following need looking at:
- New brake pads (parts 10-15 quid)
- New shifter hoods (parts 10-20 quid)
- Has a cheap halfords tyre on the back as I had an irreparable puncture whilst on a ride, this is fine but you'd probably want a new set of tyres front and back.
- One of the seat tube bottle cage nut threads is slightly damaged, it'll still hold a bolt, but I've not had a cage mounted to it since I noticed this.
Other than that, it's a 9 year old bike so as expected has a few chips but hasn't been crashed.
The original advert is here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/311115
I'm not totally sure on pricing as I know bikes aren't worth what they used to be. I'd like to see £340 for it, tell me if this is way off.
Collection from se23. Any questions DM me or ask here.

SOLD - £100
I'm selling my Btwin Oxylane 500 folding bike since it's served it's intended purpose for us. The bike is great for the price, not on the par of a Brompton but it's also a fraction of the cost.
I'm not going to find time to properly scrub the bike down but I think the price reflects that. There's some surface rust to the chain and cassette, but I'm sure this will come up alright after a clean. Generally I'd say it needs a minor service since it's sat in the spare room for a year unused. I have checked this morning that you can get into all the gears (could do with an indexing), and that the brakes work.
I think I have a spare tube somewhere for it, and I'll throw in a Kryptonie Keeper lock with one key if anyone wants it.

I rode the Dunwich Dynamo fixed a couple of years back, we finished in Manningtree which was about an extra 40 miles, plus an added 7 or 8 getting to London Fields.
It's not as hilly at 5500ft elevation gained, I rode an average 12.1 mph - So quite slowly.
I bonked cause I got sick of gels but other than that it was a good experience. 164 miles over 17 hours total and 13 1/2 moving.
I totally agree with @youramericanlover, you can definitely do it, it just may be slower / more conservative on the fast bits.

My challenge for the year is to run a half marathon every week. I'm generally coming in around 1:50 - 2 hours which is just fine for me - I've never been as fast as some of you lot but I'm very much enjoying it.
Today I hit number 40 which feels like a milestone in it's self. Currently dreaming about trying to do one every day for the last week (not before, too risky injuring myself when I'm so far through!). Also wondering what I'll do next year.

I've run 600 or so miles in the Clifton 7 and about the same in Clifton 8. Whilst I thought the Clifton 7 felt like a slightly better fit for me, I've never had any issues with either. I'm around 75kgs currently but was up to 82 at one point, both pairs are still perfectly useable. They're very cushioned which I did like, especially on days when I can't be bothered to stay on my forefoot!
I've done one marathon in each so perfectly good for longer runs too.
