Cheers. We rode the seafront from Christchurch to the sandbanks ferry yesterday - and back. Got a flat halfway home. So … not great for urban riding considering they were brand new . That said they rolled pretty nice around the sand paths of the Forest today. Quite balloonish on the 19mm rims I suppose. Look sick tho so - meh

Built up a bobcat trail frame that was lurking in the back of the garage with a bunch o stuff from the parts bin. Shuffled some bits around to switch up the rockhopper as a 1x atb for my wife also. Hit the new Forrest with the kids. Woods tall trees loop was perfect today, had a coffee and accidentally gave my kid a cbd soda. Happy days

Buy the guitar you always wanted and leave it in the living room…. give him six months and he’ll be better than me.
Really rate the thr5 - btw - I resisted for ages. It does such a good job at low volumes for noodling. The styling + form factor lets it sit nicely in the living room without looking too muso gear cave. The tacky faux tube lighting …. also very cute imho. I think you just need to make peace with it in no way being a ‘real’ amp. Adjust you expectations and accept it’s more than good enough for playing blues scale in front of the telly.

Soldering news - 335 harness complete - quite pleased with myself. Had some worrying noise testing it in the shed - but plugged into my interface running off a laptop battery is quiet as a mouse so must be dirty power coming from the house etc. Used some spare jst connectors I had from an RC project to connect the pups.

In Sheppz shed news an extension lead has been run along the back of the flower bed and fed through the back of the house. So I now have light and power. Cluttered but pretty cosy in there for most of yesterday with the rain hammering down outside. The desk was only a temporary install - now looking at options for squeezing in a day bed of sorts so others in the fam can use it as an escape pod for reading etc. Its super tight but might just work.

Most useful thing I did was build a simple SketchUp model, geolocated it and then made some crude sun path maps. It meant I tweaked the layout I was thinking of for the better. Really depends on your site and how you want to use it - but broadly speaking - sunny spot for breakfast coffee - semi shaded area for lunch (if you don’t want to buy a parasol) - sunny area for late afternoon drinks / summer evening meals. We didn’t have a lot of money, the garden was too small in area for a separate play zone - but the kids were little so a lawn made sense - now they are older (9/11) the lawn is pointless and I would absolutely get rid of it. I’m very into the idea of dividing gardens into rooms . Agree with @hugo7 that ripping out mature shrubs comes at a cost later on - so leave / save what you can. Dan Pearson’s book “home ground” was my primer.

Anyone know if there is some kind of hunting season at the moment ? Bubbles (who is admittedly a bit of a twat) is really on a roll - in the last two weeks we’ve had - live robin minus tail feathers in the lounge - live rat up the curtains later disemboweled on the stairs. Dead blackbird on the doorstep and another dead mouse this morning. We’re locking the catflap .
