What does c96 mean specifically is that just the material/design combo - I know it's Thron Super tubing. Anything I can do re: blisters. The pic shows the full extent of them. Also, any idea of value; what would make it a good buy provided it's all kosher and needs no work? Not looking to sell or profit but can't afford to lose if I don't get on with it?

Hi - I've got an opportunity to purchase this bike - a friend who's a purist and proficient cyclist (previously very good amateur) says it rides beautifully and is set up lovely.

I've got it on loan to try out as this evening I'm going to get a competent 'tinkerer' to check over the drive train etc and ensure its in good mechanical order.

What are people's thoughts on 1) The virtues of owning and riding this bike and
2) it's realistic desirability and value should I not get in with it or want to move it on at some point?
