Good choice! I’ve done it the other way a few times, although earlier in the year. Once at the end of June and got soaked and blown to pieces, once in early July when it was perfect.
Going from Cardiff the climb into Hay/over Gospel Pass is a killer (steep and gravely), but the views stunning at the top and the decent an absolute dream (if you avoid the sheep!)
Mid wales remains my favourite bit of the route, and possibly bit of cycling in Europe so take your time if you can and enjoy!

Just seen this and bought it might be of interest. JTek have realised a new (?) Shiftmate that’ll allow 11spd road levers to control 11spd mtb tear mechs.
Seems a pretty good option for wide ranging 1x mix and match systems. I’ve seen and heard the other Shiftmate systems being well regarded so reckon it’ll be a goer.

From TCR instagram:
“Bjorn has had a bad day. Forced to walk to CP3 when his tubeless tyre was slashed in the parcours. Previous day was tough with a headwind, then running out of food and water. He arrived at CP3 close to tears, but has had two sprites and cake and is fixing his tyre. Wants to be on the way soon!”
Sounds rough...

Good news anecdote this time! Nice little email from the Met following a roadsafe submission for a very close pass made last week. Wasn’t expecting much to come of it but just heard that they’ve sent a letter ofnintended prosecution. Always nice to see they are being active and following up on these 👍

In their defence I have had some good experiences, but it is store dependant. Given a choice I’d rather go elsewhere, hence looking for options.
Glad there are a few that are recommended, will have to pay them each a visit :)
Thanks @jonuxuk. That’s not far from work so might be a goer. Doesn’t Edscoble manage that workshop?

Anyone know of a bike shop in London they can/is willing to do a same-day service on a Brompton? It’s currently my only wsy to commute so would like it out of action for as little time as possible. Work east (Liverpool St) so if nearby then all the better!
Having recently relocated I’m not sure where’s the go-to places apart from Evans, which seem touch and go.

Any recent experience with this guy? http://theseatpostman.com/service/
Mentioned upthread but not much about them/him.
Trying to unfreeze a stuck ti seatpost, I’d rather not destroy it if possible.
-
This place/person has been mentioned to me before. No idea if it’s any good/worth the price but I’m looking for somewhere to remove a ti post I’d rather keep than destroy if possible.

Anyone else used this service?

Silver SR Fluted crankset, square taper fitting and 48t chainring but NO chainring bolts or crank bolts.
It’s a double crankset which I was going to use with a single chainring for my Brompton but it doesn’t quite fit when folded. BCD seems to be slightly larger than my Shimano road cranks, so possibly a Campagnolo fit, which I think was the issue on trying to make it fit.
In very good condition, tapers all seem in good condition and pedal threads as well. Sadly I don’t have the self extraction bolts that this looks like it should have come with.
Pics attached, and questions do ask!
Collection only from EC2 during the day or SW6 in the evening. Cycle through central so happy to meet en-route.
Ebay prices seem to be c.£60-65, so selling on here for £50 ono.

Edit: same link as @umop3pisdn above for small decathlon packaway pack.
I wasn’t sure how much I’d use it but ended up taking it as a spare on a hand-luggage only tour of Europe as a day bag and it performed much better than I imagined. And pretty roomy for lunch/drinks/small jacket for a day.
I wouldn’t want to overload it, but for the price I’m certainly not comparing. Came back and bought a few more and they have lived in my bike bags ever since for his tthis type of thing.
Weights next to nothing and folds to about half the size of a tennis ball.
As above, looking for some old/unloved/destined for scrap heap spokes. Any length, reasonable condition (not corroded) and mostly straight preferred.
Wanted as I’m looking for some narrow gauge round wire and bike spokes seem to fit the bill pretty well.
Cycle SW6 -> EC1 most days, happy to collect on route or around SW6 at weekends/evening.
