On the calorie density thread what are people's thoughts on Shirataki / Konjac noodles? I chucked them into a miso mushroom coconut broth thing and really enjoyed it. Only just found out about them, are they really as good as they sound, minimal calories / carbs, lots of fibre, what am I missing? (obviously eating lots of veggies with it for some nutritional value!)

I take notice of it but it doesn't really help. 33 last night, generally around that, up to 38 sometimes. Only time it does anything else is around a big race, it dropped to 26 for a week or so after a 24 hour race in Sept.
I think the guidance is a bit misleading and suggests it should be higher for generally fit, not overloaded people but I'm never anywhere near that. I think it might be more useful for someone starting up to avoid overload but once you have a decent base and are consistent it doesn't do much, unless you do something big, which obviously you then know you are totally obliterated, and it serves as a good gauge to take note of, so you don't come back too soon!

Yes assembled myself, managed to do it on my own, is pretty easy so long as you are reasonably handy.
Yes, green roof too, it is well designed, easy to install and drains freely. Obviously takes a bit of attention to get it established but has been good since. They managed to deliver the wrong size rubber membrane to start with, but they ended up getting the correct one to me same day in the end!

One of our local brewery tap rooms does it, it is priced fairly, generally I enjoy it as I'll have three but only drank two pints, so can sample three different beers, or quite often go back to the first for the third as it was so good, and then and then cycle home without too much wobble. I accept that this isn't the norm for most drinkers though who happily stick to the same brand all night and will be annoyed by the increased frequency of getting the beers in!
It does sounds like another nail in the pub trade coffin though if it does gain any traction with the quoted 10% reduction in volume sold in the trial!

Did the 24 hour track race in Battersea park at the weekend (Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence). Really enjoyed it and came away with a little trophy for 6th place so was very happy! Was 6 hours of relatively warm sunny weather, followed by 7 hours of rain and then an overcast morning to try to slog out the last bit. Wasn't anywhere as monotonous as I thought it would be, ran well for the first 19 hours, then had a major lull and rallied for the last hour. Digestion suffered and was a fairly unpleasant experience, basically gave up on solid food about 9 hours into the race and survived on energy gels and Haribo for 15 hours!

I have the Subminimal Nanofoamer Pro and like it, they've just released Gen 2 so hopefully an improvement. I had the original one and found heating the milk then whisking too much of a faff alongside the Robot manual process but is very easy with the pro, just hit go on it before you start pulling your shot and it will be ready to pour shortly after you've finished the shot. I'm no latte art wizard but works fine with oat milk giving the consistency you would expect.
Ah, seems I'm late to the Konjac party then! What brand are the wide version? Thanks!
Thanks @Tenderloin, Bulk have them at £0.87 a pack at the moment! Will stock up!
