ended up doing it solo, there and back from dorking. really nice fast and flowy paths, little roots or rocks and not a single sighting of SFAB. left a little late but managed to finish soon after sunset. highly enjoyable in the dusk, maybe even in the dark? my only critique would be the longish road section in the middle, but not sure how easily it could've been avoided. bizarre feeling riding through the band stand in godalming by hundreds of pensioners sat down waiting for the act to start.
keen for any similar routes or terrain in the area if there are further efforts. there was an algae warning at the pond, but the families seemed to not mind as the kids were splashing away freely.

i read into this a bit and it said somewhere that the further away the headtube gets from the fork crown the less solid the construction gets. higher leverages at the joint might risk damaging the frame, which i obviously don’t want. someone more mechanically inclined probably knows more about this…
risers are definitely coming, the mid rise soma dreams i’ll try at first might not be enough. i’ll ask you about bmx bars then 🥹

it’s a 406, but i wouldn’t want to force this frame to work as i could as well get another frame that actually rides well with it. cargoing it is just a fun summer project while i find a suitable front hub or rim to build it into a gravel bike.
appreciate the advise though, had no idea omnium uses larger diameter.

as a slave to the tanwall i have procured this heavy, beaded halo moulton tyre. it needs to match the 48b rear and hence no mega width craze here unfortunately. think city cargo i guess.

unexpectedly the hub arrived after all and is being build now. the rear wheel is ready to be picked up from arup, so rolling chassis teasers dropping soon.
i'm only missing the headset and seat clamp, of which the latter is going to be a salsa lip lock. with the headset i was looking to convey masculine and utilitarian heavy trucking vibe and cane creek c2 could be a choice.
another option could be dia compe cb2, which looks good on @Qebrus 's trek and comes in a variety of colours.

where's the sjs basket screenshot?
also, have @yoshy and @Belagerent figured out what wall thickness the proprietary all city tubing is yet? or is it possibly pre-proprietary reynolds? 🤔
